air suspension

Sounds like you need better shocks. Air suspension will not help.

Air lift 5k bags stiffened up my ride, and very bouncy...
Knew the ride could be improved... Switched to Firestone 3k Ride- Rite and couldn't be happier !
You won't be disappointed !!!

I'd look into using Firestone #9000 or 9001.

The reason I'm considering an airbag is that I like the levelled look and plan to buy a travel trailer next year and don't want the back end to sag. Could you provide a link to a source for the Firestone 9000?

Suspension enhancement like air bags or Timbrens typically work best to suspend loads carried in the bed of a truck or the cargo area of an SUV. They also work very well when towing a fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer.
For a bumper pull trailer, a weight distribution system does a better job of distributing the trailer's tongue weight between the front and rear tow vehicle axles and leveling the ride height. This allows the headlights to be properly aimed, returns the proper amount of weight on the front axle so steering response is optimal, and and improves braking. Since the front vehicle brakes provide most of the stopping power, it's critical that the proper amount of weight is distributed to the front TV axle.
For more information about weight distribution and how to determine the actual as-towed tongue weight of your trailer, use the link below.

I tow a bumper pull toy hauler. The total receiver weight was 860 lbs., including the hitch weight. I transferred 480 lbs. off the rear axle with the weight distribution hitch. I have no need for air bags or rubber springs or anything else.
