AAL or Coil over shocks?
Trying to decide on one between the two. They are both about the same price. Not looking for the extra height, purely for towing.
Whats better,for towing?

I am very happy with the Monroe Sensa-Trac Load shock. I put them on my minivan a few years ago and just installed them on my 2005 F150 FX4. They are nice, they help manage payload when needed but maintain a nice well mannered ride quality when unloaded. Remember that these do not increase your payload capacity, they just manage it better then stock. I have not maxed out payload or trailer tongue weight on either but I can tell you that in the van I can load up 4 boy scouts 2 adults with a full back pack or 2 behind the rear seat and drop the trailer on back (1000 to 1200 lbs) and go down the road without dragging butt. It actually tends to maintain level to slightly rear high. With the 20ft pontoon and trailer the truck only sets down 1/2 to 3/4 inches where it used to set level to slightly tail down before.

Canuck with a truck
I love my AAL's and my truck does'nt ride rough at all, well my LT E rated tires make it ride rough but the extra leaf doesn't make it ride any worse. one thing i noticed with the extra leaf is the truck does'nt lean as much in the corners as stock suspension.

Yeah, I don't care about the ride either. I have E rated tires too.

It sounds as if the AAL's give the same ride as the Monroes Load shock. Just wondering what is the install like? Monroes are just a matter of repalcing the shocks.

I've swapped out springs alot on our race trucks, All chevys. I might pull my springs out this weekend and see if there is a difference. Might just add one of those. Along with the shocks.
