Having a heavier truck is just that much more your brakes are having to hold back. Getting an exhaust brake though with a diesel would help.
My trailer is 32'9" long and loaded it weighs 7500lbs. My truck tows it great but i will admit i did have a couple uncomfortable white knuckle moments while towing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with 30-50mph crosswinds while descending the hills. I personally would not go any bigger or heavier. Keep in mind a Superduty has much bigger brakes than a F150.

Your truck will be maxed out on GVWR and Tow rating so i would love to see your facial expression descending down a 6-7% grade with a load like that!!
Make sure you take a poo before you go every lb counts.

The door payload sticker takes into account a full gas tank so you don't need to subtract that. My crew HD has 2171 lb door sticker. Many 3/4 diesels don't have that much. I know they can handle more but legally they are in the same boat.

Actually lowest payload of a new 250 is just over 3000lbs. According to ford.com. that is gas too.

Notice I said diesel. Go look at a Lariat F250 diesel with all the options.

I looked at a 2013 F250 Platinum Diesel and the payload was 1925lbs. I was shocked.

I was told that the weight of the fuel is not included in the payload?? When they weigh the trucks on the final assembly line and slap the stickers in the door jams i don't think they would be filled with fuel??? But i have been wrong before.

This.
Any 5th wheel would be super duty for me. I wouldn't consider one with my f150

There a plenty of 5vers in the 7-8500lb range that can be towed by a F150..10,000lbs+ then in my opinion you are talking Superduty territory.
