You'll definitely need a HDPP truck again, and i'd go 3.5 ecoboost. You don't NEED an F250 but it sure would make towing a 5er easier.
F150, HDPP long bed.

The 150 HDPP should handle that no problem with either the 5.0 or 3.5EB HDPP. The 250 would for sure probabaly feel a bit more planted and not get pushed around as bad. Figuring you are closer to 8500 to 9k loaded and 1800 to 2k pin, it gets close on payload if you load up options on the 150 or even a 250 diesel. If you go SD diesel get the 350 SRW.

Must be nice to have a 5ver with that low a pin weight. My new GN LQ horse trailer is huge at almost 50ft long, but has 4200 to 4800lb on the pin depending on load out.

Probably about 1,800 pin weight when wet and loaded on the road. So yeah, I'd insist on the HDPP in a new F-150 for that much trailer.

I ordered a 2019 F-150 and wanted Lariat trim and HDPP. That was available for 2018, but Ford discontinued it for 2019. I could order XLT 301a trim, but DW wanted Lariat trim. So I had to compromise and order SuperCab max tow Lariat 501a without HDPP. Payload is 1904, which wouldn't be enough for a 5er hitch and 1,800 pin weight.

So assuming you don't want to be overloaded, if you want Lariat or better trim, then you'll need to go for the F-250. There is no restriction as to trim level on an F-250. And as 5.0GN tow suggested, if you go for a diesel, then get the F-350 SRW so you'll not need to worry about overloading the tow vehicle with the wet and loaded 5er and the weight you haul in the truck. That diesel drivetrain is heavy, so you'll probably appreciate the extra payload capacity of the F-350 SRW. And order the 8' bed unless you plan to use a SuperGlide automatic slider hitch. SuperGlide hitch is available for the Ford 5er prep pkg, so be sure to order the 5er prep pkg in your new SuperDuty,

If it were me, and I wanted a newer truck, I'd just go with the F250 gasser, or a F350 6.7 and never look back. Especially given you tow a 5th wheel now.
