3.5L NA torque info. Interesting comparison to 5.0L

Here are crank dyno graphs from Ford. The 5.0 does have a peaky curve, but much more output than the 3.7 V6 throughout the rev range. The 4.6 3V has significantly more torque and available lower than the 3.7, and the 5.0 has even more torque. Looking at the 5.4 Triton curve and comparing it to the 3.7 is almost comical to say it could compete with the modular V8 engines.

as for 28mpg in a F150.....maybe on your electronic dash, but real world, I don't believe it. Even the powerstroke struggles to get that mpg, and it makes more torque at cruise rpm thereby requiring less 'work'....and it's diesel.

I've seen 21 cruising a 60 mph. If I didn't tow farm equipment a lot I'm sure the V-6 would be fine. I upgraded from a 3.0 V-6 Ranger Supercab 2wd with a 5 spd manual that would only get 23 mpg at best. My truck works well for what I use it for.
