3:55s or 3:73s

The Off Road Package (which comes with 3.55 locker) is more important to me than the 3.73 towing advantage so that is what I will have to get.
What I found interesting is that choosing the 5.0 engine over the ecoboost cuts the max. towing capacity from 9500 to 7500 lbs. That's a major cut. (This is when configuring a King Ranch Screw 6.5 box.)

just a heads up, if your into off-roading, which normally means little larger tires, the 3.73 gears will be more forgiving in the long run than the 3.55 will.
heck 4.10's would be a nice option.
When I ordered my truck I initially opted for 3.55, but reading and some math lead and I noticed the negligible benefit in cruise RPM's (like 200rpm @ 120kph) & the loss of tow capability. Very happy I went for the 3.73/max tow in the end... and the E-locker was a bonus too.

Well I have since discovered it seems possible to have both the Max. Towing package and the Off-Road package. In the "build your F-150", selecting Off-Road disables the Max. Towing Option but you can simply re-enable it and the $1200 Off-road package is listed in the summary. I assume this means you end up with 3.73 gears combined with the off-road features. Unless it is some cruel online error.

I am in the same boat, going to get the FX4 package/5.0L if I get the go ahead from the boss to get a new truck. Not sure if I should get 3.55 or 3.73's?
I don't do any consistant towing, maybe once in a great while I will be pulling a car to the drag strip or a shop for work, that is about it, the rest would be light lawn equip, 4 wheelers, etc. I don't plan on huge tires at a later date either.
Would I regret 3.55's for any reason you guys can enlighten me?

What is the mpg difference to be expected between the 2?
Just range don't want to change subject at hand.
How about acceleration from a standing start?
Rpm diff at 70mph est?
Thanks guys, I am reading as much as I can as fast as I can.
