Wow, that new Ecoboost makes the old look like a complete dog.

Old 2011 - 2014 3.5L Ecoboost

Link

Old has a peak 300 lbs of torque at 2875 rpms, new has a peak 430 lbs of torque at 2625 rpms. That's 130 lbs more torque! Old has a peak 255 Hp at 5250 rpm, new has a peak 335 HP at 5200 rpms. That's 80 more horsepower! Both at stock 87 octane.

Old 2015/2016 3.5L Ecoboost

Link

274 Hp at 5100 rpms and 335 lbs of torque at 3250 rpms. Still a dog next to the new 2nd generation Ecoboost!

My 5.0L has 290 Hp at 5750 rpm and 295 lbs of torque at 4075 rpms.

2015 - 2017 5.0L

Link

No wonder why my 5.0L feels so much quicker next to the older 2011 - 2014 3.5L Ecoboost. Most likely the lower power on the Ecoboost from all the condensation problem patches that killed the intercooler performance.

I'm starting to wonder if the 2017 F150 was a rapter with the H.O. 3.5L Ecoboost rated at 450 Hp and 510 lbs of torque at the flywheel.

2017 Raptor

Link

Maybe not but only about 20 more Hp and 25 more ft-lbs! And the Raptor is tested on 93 octane where the F150 is on 87 octane. Add 93 octane to the F150 and it may equal the Raptor! If so, they really under rated the new standard dual injection 3.5L Ecoboost. Maybe I'll be getting that on my 2019!

I think the 2015 and 2016's make more power than the 2011-2014's. something to due with the ECU being changed. I have seem dynos of stock 15/16 trucks in the 340-350 wtq range which brings it more in line with what they see out of the 2017.

This is the graph listed for the 15/16 3.5 EB.

Still though, those are some serious numbers on the 2017.

The 2011 - 2014 Ecoboost had 300 lbs of torque, the 2015 /2016 had 335 lbs of torque, the 2017 has a whopping 425 lbs of torque! Nowhere close. Hp for the 2017 is 335 HP, for 2011 - 2014 Ecoboost is only 255 Hp, the 2015/2016 is 274 hp. Again not close, that's 60 more Hp for 2017 over 2016!

Ford needs to rate it for what it is (425 HP and 510 ft-lbs torque), and watch GM and Dodge cry.

Why did you have to post that!?!? Now I regret buying a 2016 and want a 2017!

My 2014 RWD was a hotrod compared to my 2016, hoping a tune wakes it up, but looks like the 17 is a hotrod right from the start!

You better believe the pushrod boys are smarting from the performance and success of this engine. For towing purposes, nothing gas or diesel (in this size) compares. The 6.2 V8's can't match it.
