2019 3.5L Ecoboost Towing MPG expected with 7,500 pound TT

On my 2016 I'm getting around 9-10, waiting for my 2019 to come in next week. The truck is equipped very similarly, (3.5 eco, max tow, 6.5 bed), the only difference is that I went to a Lariat, so I'm sure I"m going to lose a couple hundred pounds on payload.

I have an similarly equipped '18. With a 7k lb TT I get anywhere from 8 to 12 mpg depending on going up hill, down hill, wind, etc. Never anything more than 12 mpg. Average for a trip is usually around 10.

I just bought a 2017 3.5 eco max tow and tow a rock wood mini lite 2509s (6800 lbs). We have taken two trips and have averaged 11.1 mpg. I live in western CO so that has been mountain driving. I’ve already noticed a few things. Speed is 65 mph.
1. There is a noticeable difference in power between 87 and 91 octane gas when towing. With regular gas on the way down to Grand Junction (-2500 ft) I averaged 11 mpg. On the way back I filled up with 91 octane and got 12 mpg climbing up the 2500 feet. On level ground I get between 13 and 14 mpg (if I lock out 9 and 10). Right now it looks like premium might end up costing less overall.
2. Per someone’s suggestion here I’ve been locking out gears. There is a big difference in mpgs between 10 and 7th. The turbos run constantly in 10th and I get about 9mpg on level ground with regular gas. If I lock out 10 and 9 my mpg goes up to 11-12. I’m still experimenting but if I have a few small ups and downs I’ll lock out 8 as well.
im sure there are others here with more towing miles but those are my observations with the limited miles I have. We have a 2000+ mile trip planned this summer so I’ll know more by then.

I am considering purchasing a 2019 3.5L Ecoboost with the 3.55 rear gear.
Can anyone provide feedback on the towing mileage that I might expect when towing a 7,500 pound TT.
Travel speed would be 62 - 65 miles per hour.
You can assume flat terrain with minimal wind speed and regular gas.
Thank You

Refer to the F150 Owners Manual in the Towing section and read the info regarding trailer frontal area. You should be able to have access to a Manual at the dealer or elsewhere online.

I see that Stage 3 Motorsports is offering the MPT tuner with 3 tunes for $300. Mpt sells the same set-up for $700. It has a 'Performance/Tow' tune that will is supposed to help with torque and mpg's

Kurt Dahl - we live in Ridgway and our configuration would be very close to yours if we buy an F150 with the 3.5. Have you taken any mountain passes yet, such as Monarch or Vail? Our current tow vehicle is a 2004 Yukon Denali with a 6.2L V-8. It can barely get out of its own way towing up those passes.
