As far as a super tall top gear, I get the idea but it's kind of pointless when it has to downshift due to a gust of wind.
Well, Ford is outselling GM. They are gaining market share while Ram and GM are stagnant or losing. They managed to get the F150 2.7 Ecoboost within 1mpg of the Ram Ecodiesel with this transmission nevermind whatever the 3.0 ford diesel will do. 2017/2018 Ecoboosts and 5.0 are running well into the 13's in the quarter mile stock. there aint much to complain about.

Dont be too dissapointed but I believe they have a 10R140 in the works for the 2019 Superduty.

My current personal fleet is in good shape and I don't forsee me buying anything new for a couple years. We'll see.
P.S. A few thousand miles doesn't make for much of a database, statistically speaking. I'm interested in how they're doing a couple years down the road, and that works with my time table.

Because it is a joint venture, general purpose transmission that can be slapped onto just about any engine regardless of the engines HP and TQ ratings, and with programming, can select and use the most appropriate gears to get the most out of that particular engine.

A much less expensive solution than having several different transmissions designed for select engines.
