2018 stx tow mirror

I am looking to upgrade my mirrors on my stx to tow mirrors. I have searched but can't find much on it. I have power mirrors now with no lights. I was wondering if anyone has found ones that work and have good reviews.

I prefer the OEM Ford tow mirrors, so I ordered the ones from the F-150 Accessories Catalog. Here's the ones for your 2018: https://accessories.ford.com/catalog.../category/154/

Those are "plug and play" but only the features of your stock mirrors will be sure to work. However, your STX wiring harness and mirror plug is probably the same as the one in the XLT, so I'll bet the lights will work too. If your STX doesn't have heated mirrors, then the heated mirror features probably won't work without some wiring work.

Those are in the F-150 Accessories Catalog. You can also get them with different part numbers from Ford Parts, but they are not available as a pair in a kit except from the Accessories catalog, so the price from the parts counter is about twice as high to get both left and right side towing mirrors.

Note the Ford part number for that pair of tow mirrors: jl3z17696ba. Do a Bing search on that part number and you'll probably find several discount sources.

Ford says you cannot DIY, but that's silly. If you can remove the door panels, you can then remove the old mirrors and bolt the tow mirrors on, and plug the tow mirrors into the wiring harness. The secret to removing the door panels is a screw in the bottom of the hand-hold pocket of the panel. Remove that screw and the remaining screws are obvious.

Go check out the Late Model F150 thread. There's a guy posting that he wants to trade his tow mirrors for a standard set. Seems crazy, but hey...worth a shot.
