2016 Ford F-150 towing issues
 

I have a 2016 f150 4x4 crew cab pulling a 2018 Colman lantern 263bh camper weight is 6500 loaded useing a blue ox sway pro hitch when going down the interstate when a car passes me it makes the truck and camper buckle in the middle. I have put load range d tires on the camper and load range e tires on the truck I have been told to add weight to the bed of the truck buy blue ox that came to my house to help me. And I have seen something about a Ssm 45685 tsb that the dealer can do on the truck for the steering.

That's a pretty long TT for that GVWR (imho) so I'd try shifting weight to the front of the trailer first. The tip about loading up the bed of the truck (which I think is a first for this site :)) will just distribute weight about the rear axle and only a fraction will be applied to the hitch/tongue. If you don't have room in your front storage, use the rear of the bed (behind the axle).

By "Buckling in the middle" do you mean that you feel a side to side motion or is it an up and down bouncing motion?

If it is the side to side motion, it sounds like your tongue weight may be too light and you need more weight in front of the trailer axles.

We still need more information though. Did Blue Ox determine the hitch was set correctly? If so, how?

Does the front end of your truck feel light compared to when the trailer is disconnected?

Tongue weight is 895 pounds And it is a side to side movement

Blue ox is telling me the truck is to light and if I add weight to the bed it will help and would a pro pride hitch help for the $$ it cost I have had the truck for 5 mouths can’t get out of it

I put a Hellwig sway bar on and it made it worse I have a set of super springs on it to help with the sag going to dealer Saturday to see about the tsb for the steering

Its common to feel some movement from bow wake of trucks to some degree. Blue Ox could be right about the weight but any type of lateral instability (movement)will not help. I’m sure you’ve check the normal things such as tire pressures on both the truck and trailer.

Tires on camper 65 psi truck 80 psi the camper did have load range c tires and it was a lot worse the load range d tires helped everything I have found is the F150 with the aluminum body is so light pro pride has said there hitch will fix it lol I already have two hitches blue ox and a curt true track

Well, first off, you are playing a guessing game. You need to take the truck to the scales, first with just you, the truck and any people/gear you would take with, then with the trailer hooked up. End goal is to get the weight distributed back to the front axle that is removed when the trailer is on the ball. All else will fall into place provided of course you are between 10 and 15% TW on the ball.

However, with that said and done, it may not be enough. I also have a 2016 with similar handling issues while towing and have everything setup perfectly. The problem IS with the steering on the truck, one which I would like to find out how best to describe so that Ford can find a fix for it. I posted a thread under the 15+ trucks for hopefully some help.
