2016 F150 towing/ Propride hitch
As many of you have done I have read many, many threads on towing and weight. I currently have a 19foot TT and no issues at all towing. I am looking to go with a Cougar 1/2 ton towable 26RBIWE. 26 foot trailer (29'10" total) 6450 dry and 7750 totally loaded.
My trucks cargo capacity is 1782 lbs. I figured completely loaded the tongue weight will be 1000lbs. leaving the 782 lbs. for the wife, myself and 12 lb dog. In the bed we put carpets, chairs, ice chest and a small BBQ so 200 lbs. We also never run fully loaded so weight would be closer to 7300 lbs. (949lb. tongue weight) plus WDH weight
I am under the totals but getting close. If I go with this set up I would go for the ProPride WDH or Blue Ox. Wanted to get thoughts from those that have used the set up or trailer towing with this size trailer. I have 30 years towing experience and have seen to many scary set ups on the highway.

I have towed a Jayco Eagle 28BHBE with dry weight of 7300 lbs/8100 loaded for camping with a tongue weight of 1050 lbs for the last 3 years with a Propride 3p. Trailer dealership screwed up the hitch install but once I read through the directions and reinstalled the brackets etc. on the A-Frame according to the instructions, hitch has been excellent and I would not tow a trailer this size without it. After the botched install, I call Sean at Propride and he looked at photos of the install and confirmed the botched install and helped me get it reinstalled properly.
I Previously towed a 19 ft fiberglass trailer without the PP3P and had more sway than with the current 30 foot TT at double the weight.
I have yet to read about anybody having concerns about sway or stability while pulling with a Propride or Hensley within the weight ratings of their F150's. The closer you are to your limits, the more you will appreciate the extra dollars spent on the Propride or a Hensley.

I'll bet you'll be overloaded over the GVWR (and payload capacity) of your tow vehicle when wet and loaded on the road.
It's good that you're using due diligence in trying to estimate the gross weights ahead of actual towing, but the proof in the pudding will be the CAT scale ticket when the rig is wet and loaded on the road. Stop at a truck stop that has a CAT scale and fill up with gas, then weigh the wet and loaded rig, with everybody and everything in the rig. Add the weights on the front and rear axles of the tow vehicle and compare to the GVWR of the tow vehicle.
There's a big difference in cost of a Blue Ox compared to a ProPride. The Blue Ox is perfectly adequate for about 99% of all towing conditions that can result in uncontrollable sway. For four times the money, the ProPride adds almost all the other conditions to protect you from about 99.99% of all towing conditions that can result in uncontrollable sway. If you've ever experienced uncontrollable sway, you'll pay a lot to be certain it never happens again. That's why I paid the big bucks and tow my TT with a ProPride.
