Default 2015 F150 Towing Satisfaction

Ive seen reports both good and bad on the 2015+ F150 towing. Can those of you with experience towing with them post your review here? I'd like to hear GOOD and bad. I see more bad than good in the towing forums but I understand people will always post bad stuff before they go out of there way to post good reviews.

Please provide you rig details and trailer details, as well as any other info that would be helpful for rose interested.

I have towed over 45 years just my opinion on my 2015 King Ranch but truck is to lite doesn't have a solid feel. Rear end to soft trick rides like a car, I like my truck the only problem I have is with seat cooling. If you plan on pulling a trailer a lot go with a F250 it won't know the trailer is there in most cases this 2015 is my second 3.5EB my 2012 EB handled the trailer a lot better, power seems about same, Mpg about the same 7/8 towing. The 2012 had 3.73 2015 has 3.55 rear axle. Going to checkout 2017 F350 6.7 when avail.

I will second what Falcon has said. My 2013 F150 was a much better tow vehicle than my 2015 is. I have thrown about $2300 into tires, air bags, sway bar, and rear shocks to improve the 15's towing manners but haven't pulled anything with it yet. I will report back after I tow.

I will also be looking at the 17 F350 but before buying will make sure Ford doesn't make the new ones tow worse like they have with the F150's.

This is my first f150. Last truck was a 2001 Dakota quad cab......

I am satisfied with towing my 7000 pounds. I will be installing air bags to stiffen up the rear and switch to load range E tires.

The Helwig rear swaybar helped by 13 so it's probably a no brainer on a 15.

I towed my Jeep over 2000 miles last month with my 2015 Ecoboost. No issues, truck did well comfortable ride. My only issue was loosing tires on the trailer, out in West Texas not much out there and speed limit is 80. It's to much for the crappy trailer tires that are made now. Overall very happy with how the truck performed.

I guess towing satisfaction depends on the trailer weight. My 2013 KR ecoboost towed my 22 ft 4500 lb pontoon boat just fine and my 2015 KR ecoboost tows it probably a little better. No issues with saggy bouncy rearend and it actually feels a little peppier than the 2013. Now I realize it only has probably 250-300 pounds of tongue weight but still no issues towing it. Just my $.02.

ST trailer tires are usually rated to tow at 65 mph. If a tire rated and tested at 65 mph fails at 80 miles per hour, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is crappy. If the truck is overloaded past its rated capacity and the spring yields and bends, it doesn't mean the spring was crappy. If you need to tow at 80 mph, you would be better served by buying a different kind of tire.

Default Or slow the f__k down

Maybe 80mph isn't a good idea while towing?

A lot of things go into towing satisfaction. The farther you tow; the more elevation changes; the less of your overall maximum towing capacity you should be using. It's one thing to tow 90 miles on the flat. It's totally another to tow for 900 miles in wind and mountains.
