2015 F-150 Max Towing and Hauling Ratings (Released)
Hopefully not a repost:

New 2015 F150 website with towing specs:
2.7L EcoBoost: 2250 Max Payload, 8500 Max Towing
3.5L EcoBoost: 12200 Max Towing
5.0L V8: 3300 Max Payload

According to the 2015 F-150′s officially stated towing and payload numbers, the thing will be able to tow up to 12,200 pounds and haul up to 3300 pounds in the bed. The latter figure is particularly impressive, as the Chevrolet Silverado and Ram 1500 models can officially haul just 2270 and 1900 pounds in their beds. The F-150’s trailering figure bests the Ram’s top tow rating of 10,650 pounds and squeaks by the Chevrolet Silverado 1500’s max trailer weight of 12,000 pounds.

Check out the new Build & Price tool. Looks like you can still build in the Heavy-Duty Payload Package with both 3.5L Eco and the V8, but presumably the 5.0 will give you more payload. Not sure why, maybe the Eco platform is heavier.
Also interesting, the 2.7L eco has it's own version of "Payload Package" too.

2015 5.0L is top dog
5.0L went up to 385 hp and 387 lbs of torque.
I wonder what's different about the 5.0L or if they've been sandbagging it all along, like what most believe.

The F150 version of this engine is detuned for more torque while sacrificing HP. The Mustang version produces 435 HP and 400 ft-lbs of torque. Suspect they moved a bit back toward the higher HP versions, and low end torque may not be as high as it was in the previous version.

The GVWR will be the same for both engines, so the only difference in payload rating will be the small difference in the weight of the engines. Based on the 2013 RV and Trailer Towing Guide, the EcoBoost SuperCrew 4x4 shorty weighs 15 pounds more than the 5.0L SuperCrew 4x4 shorty. So Ford hype uses the lightest configuration to shout the early-release stats. So my guess is the payload rating for the 2015 EcoBoost with HD Payload pkg and the lightest configuration available with the HD Payload pkg (regular cab 4x2?) will be at least 3,200 pounds. You guys that want a SuperCrew 4x4, keep on dreaming about anything approaching 3,000 pounds.
