No offense but you need to re-adjust your WDHitch and get some more weight on that front end so your headlights aren't lighting up the sky.. Unless you overloaded the bed of the truck? With a properly adjusted WDhitch your trucks stance should be just about back to normal when hooked to the trailer. Unless it's the lift that might be throwing me off???

Combination of both. My truck bed was weighed down pretty good. Had some more people than usual going with us & we were the only ones with a truck. It sits level normally. It was a pain adjusting the hitch having a lift installed but finally got it. If the lake wasn't only 30 miles away & if we woulda been towing at night I wouldn't have done it

My apologies for my crappy autocorrects above. Should have been
"If you are thinking of hooking a hitch your back bumper it will disintegrate" or something to that effect. Lol

I really dont understand why my cargo limit is so low. I have friends with the same truck, and they have 1445lbs, vs. my 1145lbs???

Maybe its my wheels and tires? I have 20" wheels and sporty tires.

Or is it my 3.55 gears?

Either way Im kicking myself now. I thought putting a hitch on the rear of the rv was the answer but now it sounds like I cant do that either.

Guys, what if I install the hitch on the actual frame or suspension of the RV? That should fix the weight issue correct?

Doing this would then reduce the weight on the hitch of my truck even more because no bike and more weight on the rear of the rv would life it up some in the front.

After looking at your #'s if you watch what you load in the truck you should be ok.
Your trucks GVWR is 7350lbs, your hitch weight is 560lbs dry so probably around 630-650lbs loaded(guess) your truck weighed 6300lbs with the family and a full tank of fuel, dirt bike 250lbs(guess)?? WDHitch is about 80lbs. So this is what i get:
6300lbs- truck
630lbs- tongue weight
250lbs- dirt bike
80lbs- weight dist hitch
-----------------
7260lbs- total

So your still under your trucks GVWR(7350) by 90lbs or so if my #'s are close?? Not really sure the weight on the dirt bike though??? I say hook up and enjoy!!

That makes sense. Yeh the bike is about 240 pounds.

Already decided to have the bike setup to be on the rear of the rv to help just in case.

Plus Ill just put more cargo in the rv to help with weight in the truck.

Thanks!!!!

The more options a truck has, the less cargo capacity. The luxury models with sunroofs, heavier wheels, 36 gallon tank, etc all come off the cargo capacity.

My truck is an xlt with not a ton of options, my cargo is 15XX#.

Max tow trucks add around 500# cargo.

HD payload trucks add even more. They spec out to 2200#+ cargo, in some cases more than a heavily optioned f250 super duty!

You could very easily bend the back portion of the frame on your TT If it wasn't engineered for the extra weight.

I really don't like the idea of putting the dirt bike on the back of the TT.

I wish I would've had a picture of my dad towing our 28 foot camper with his old little dodge Dakota with a 318 and 5 speed. Man that little guy was a champ lol.
