I am certain the hitch was not set up perfect. It is owned by the rental company. But it was very manageable. Only a few occasions that it moved very much caused by a tractor trailers.

I had that problem when I first started towing. Found through trial and error that moving the chain links up to put more weight on the trailer and truck front end solved all the sway issues. Now, it tows rock solid, even if I get a hard crosswind or a bus blowing by me at 75 mph.

What link are you using on the weight distribution chain? I have a 28' Dutchman I pull and I always drop 3 links and connect to the 4th. I did it the same way when I used to pull it with my Yukon but I am just wondering what others are doing. I suppose it could be different between brands but still curious.

I have a 29' Bunkhouse and that trailer is definitely longer.

BTW, what do you mean a friction plate. I've seen many anti-sway control devices and that has me puzzled.

Your not talking about the standard anti sway bars are you?

Thanks and happy trails!
Your signature says yours is a 26' Bunkhouse. I know your 29' is overall length. His was probably a 29XX, which would be about 32'-33' overall.
That is what I have a 29XX that measures 33' bumper-to-tongue.

It is different between trailers and tow vehicles. I drop three also, but I added a second sway bar. One sway bar was fine 99% of the time. But Gulf crosswinds and Big Rigs caused a little pucker. The second sway bar moves the needle up to about 99.99% for me.

I agree a trailer that length needed 2 and I recommended it to the rental facility.

Is that a Crossroads TT? Looks very similar to my Zinger 28bh.
