Of course a simple $1800 trailer would solve this problem and you could keep your 2.7.

Is 2000 lbs a specific need? Such a large generator you would haul all the time? If not go ahead and get the 2.7. If you will actually need to haul 2000 lbs on a regular basis I’d step up to a 3/4 ton.
