Default 1996 F-150 help identifying these connectors ...

I'm trying to outfit my truck for pulling a trailer with brakes, and at the moment it just has the four-wire flat Reese connector.

I just got a Tekonsha P3 controller and have the harness that matches the connector under the dash.

I have a feeling I need something else that will hook up to one of the connectors pictured here. The ones labeled "C" and "D" are not connected to anything, and I'd love to know what they are for. "B" seems associated with the license plate lamp.

So I think I need some "T" connector thing to join together the "A" male and female halves. But I'm not sure.

Any help identifying the correct kit (and those wire connectors) would be great.

Have you checked with E trailer? They may have what you are looking for.

Did. And unfortunately I appear to need this:

If I had a 1997 or later vs 1996, I could have done it all with a magic harness, vs converting an existing 4-wire and running other wires to the battery and braking controller.

Oh, right, I see the boat you are in. I had to do the same on a 97 Exploder. I also had to do that for a 2010 Flex, but on a 2013 all I needed was the 7 pin socket, and dash harness.
