Default 1127 lb Payload capacity???????

That's what the yellow sticker says on the inside of the drivers door of my Platinum Eco SCREW 145. What am I supposed to tow with that? I'm 240, wife is 125, kids total 100 plus the WD hitch is another 100 and an extra 100 for the Bakflip and bed rug. That leaves me with 460 pounds of tongue weight if I pack everything in the trailer. I hope my family likes camping in a landscape trailer! I thought it was 1520.

Not sure, logic tells me it could have something to do with it but I could be wrong. Is 1735 what your book says or what's on the sticker?

its not the tires, the tires rating far exceeds the payload rating of even the highest rated f150, 20" pirellis are rated at 2403 pounds per tire. Maybe he didnt get max tow or something,

I didn't get max tow because 1590 would have been enough. My question is how did I go from 1590 in the brochure to 1127 on the sticker. Somewhere I lost almost 500 pounds of payload.

Payload is how much you can have in the bed/cab... 1127lbs... 1/2 ton truck..?

Towing capacity for yours is 9800 lbs max, at least thats mine, which is like your truck.

The brochure probably stated numbers for a 4x2 XL without Max Tow.
The higher end models (like Platinum) weigh more so the available payload is lower assuming equal GVWR.

My XLT 4x4 Ecoscrew has 1848 lb with Max Tow. It would have been about 1400 without Max Tow.

SultanGris is on point about the tires.

You need to take into account the weight of the truck on those tires too. So each rear tire can hold 2400 pounds which equals 4800, now subtract the approx weight of the rear end of the truck, on a crew cab I would guess close to 3000 pounds. That leaves only 1800 pounds of extra capacity for payload. Im not sure how its worded in the 09+ manuals but according to my 05 manual going from 18's to 20's automatically reduces the payload by 500 pounds.

Payload does not mean towing capacity. Two separate things.

Payload is what you can carry in the cab/bed.

Yes, but there is a relationship between payload and trailer weight since tongue weight is part of your payload. Using the 10% rule (for ease of math) if I only have 460 pounds of payload left after me and my family are accounted for that means I need to find a trailer with a tongue weight of no more than 460 pounds which would be roughly 4600 pounds of trailer weight. Those trailers either do not exist or they are 13 feet in length which is not practical for a family of 4.
