Well, with all my mods that I've got done and the big ones that are happening right now I decided it was time for a build thread

A little background: Bought my 2009 XLT SCab from a dealer in MN with 67k miles on it. It's a 4x4 with the 5.4L and a 3.31 open diff. Got it for $18,325

Now on to the mods and I'll try to get some better pictures ASAP.

My first mods were fairly simple, Weathertech digital fit floormats for the front and rubber for the back for about $150. Then I added a low profile toolbox for about $250.

Cont.

Now to the mirror reflector mod. It's pretty well documented on here and I did it a bit differently. I used a 9 LED strip on top for the signals and a 6 LED strip on the bottom for running lights. I ran a wire from the left headlight, through the firewall, split it there and ran through each door and into the mirror. About $35 for this mod since I had the wire lying around. Looks great and adds alot of visibility at night

Next was probably my biggest mod: heated leather seats. Owning a dairy farm, I'm usually covered in something and the stock cloth seats are basically huge sponges for all of it. My dad has asthma which got a bit worse when he got his 05 with cloth seats so we decided to do both of our pickups at the same time.

We bought leather kits from canadaseatskins.com. Mine was a Katzkin base level kit that I ordered with dark insert and light outer as well as contrast stitching. That came to $750 ($50 off for ordering 2 kits at the same time). Then I bought a set of seat heaters off of ebay for $80. Then came the fun part, install. It took me 2 nights of about 6 hours total to take the seats out, take the cloth off, put the leather on and put the seats back in. The jump seat lid was by far the hardest to do and took the most time. The seat heaters are fairly straight forward, just apply to the bottom and back of each seat, plug the harnesses together and hook up the power and ground. The Katzkin leather is a great kit with a great price and help keep the air in my pickup alot cleaner

Nice seat covers. The cloth seats in my 07 are starting to fall apart, do you have any pictures of the installation?

Thanks. No, that is one thing I didn't get a chance to do as I did it after work so it was pretty dark and was more concentrated on getting them done than taking pictures. Sorry
