Couple of small things going on for the next week or two.
Next week the truck goes in to have the front bumper re sprayed after that little incident a while ago.
Got my grade 8 square u bolts today for the rear tow hooks.
Have to buy the 2 new hooks then I'm going to Linex all 4 of them, I think black but I'm debating grey.
Probably get them to Linex my hitch receiver as well.
I asked the tech at my work about installing the mirrors and he said hed try for next saturday....

I was going to get my grille painted while the bumper was like so, the owner said he can do it but it will chip/peel eventually because it's that textured plastic. Is this true? People paint their mirrors which are that textured plastic all the time no?
He said I'd be better off plastidipping it but I'm iffy about that. Personally I don't like the stock FX4 grille so I want to do something. I like the Tremor style grille but it's a pain to get a hold of plus painting this one would be easier for a lot of reasons.
Anyways, who knows about painting this plastic?

I couldn't say for sure if different types of paint may act differently, but I've done plenty of painting textured plastic on my truck (as well as smooth plastic) and have yet to have one problem of that sort. I would think myself the texture would help it stay on, look at how many surfaces are sanded before paint.

just for what it's worth, I've also seen good results from that textured plastic being sanded and then painted.

that's my experience and 2 cents, I'd give it a go. keep up the good work on the truck man.

My PD grill is holding up great...

As far as painting plastic, they have a adhesion and flex treatment they should apply before painting plastic. Don't see why textured would matter in that case... But I'm no painter either.

Thanks guys, think I'm just going to have him do it and keep my fingers crossed. If all goes badly, all new grille.

Ok exhaust is going to happen by Friday depending on what this paint job is going to cost me.
Rear tow hooks are about to be shipped.
What expensive mod next: amp steps, retrofitted heads, or rims?

For me it'd be a tough choice between steps and heads. A set of EVOX-Rs, nightbreaker bulbs and 50W ballasts will throw a lot more usable light than stock for not a whole lot of dough. But you can use Amp steps everytime you get in and out so I guess it depends on what you want more.

I personally like the stock FX 20s, hence why I'd leave them.

Well here's the thing, the rims I'm doing, but tax in they're really expensive so I'd have to wait more.
I could do the amps now or I could do the heads now.
I just don't think the heads are high on the priority list compared to these two, and I think rims would make the most noticeable difference.

Dammit.

Amp steps for sure, makes the truck look bigger and no matter who gets in your truck they always notice them.

Man, why are these decisions so hard. All my friends are saying rims.
It's not like the others won't happen, they just won't happen now.

Aaaaaah
