And, if you replace the front bumper, you have to replace the rear bumper to match... right? I'll probably add a red panel behind the Fab Fours logo (you can see some of the mounting hardware through them now) and shackles as well. Oh, and I need to swap the plate lights out for LED. This was a remount from my 2016.

As you saw above, an aluminum ARE DCU topper was added. This is a water-tight topper (with some sealing work) so I can carry equipment (communications stuff, bunker gear, etc.) in a secure, dry area. The rear is a double-door configuration (tailgate removed). This is also a remount from my 2016.

Ignore the reflection of my sweaty-*** self.

Under the topper, a Bedrug. Again, a remount from the 2016. This makes life much easier when I'm working on the equipment that will go in the back.

Husky mats. Just the rear so far... the front had a hole in it, so they've been sent back to Husky for warranty replacement.

I've always tinted my trucks, but I decided to try the 3M Crystalline stuff this time around. It wasn't cheap... but holy crap does it make a difference. I did CR70 on the windshield and CR40 all around on the sides (over the factory solar tint). It's a little more "bronze" than I'm used to (the camera makes it look bronzer than it really is), but the heat reduction is absolutely worth it!

Oh, and a Hellwig sway bar on the rear. Again, reused from the 2016. At some point, I'll do Bilstein shocks all the way around (5100s or 5160s out back, 5100s or 6112s up front).

And, a final glamour shot of his-and-her 3.5 Ecoboosts since both trucks were cleaned up and shiny (if I wash mine, it's a requirement I wash hers, right?)
Hers is a 2017 Explorer Sport, 401A, loaded with everything except the rattle-roof. Bone-stock except for replacement lug nuts (factory ones were already swelling). She's got about 40K on it so far and it's been flawless. It's quite entertaining to drive.

You're right, those bumpers would definitely be overkill on mine, but they look great on yours. Good call on removing the decals. Side graphics look great on an '85 Toyota, but I'm not a big fan of them on a new truck.

Oh, they probably are... but, there's no kill like overkill

Speaking of overkill, I'm sure you can mount a Q siren in that front bumper! Looks good! My wife is driving the exact same explorer, but in magnetic. Sounds like your wife is a little more accepting of modding your truck. I've already spent $1,500 on parts and won't even get my truck for another 2 weeks and she's going crazy, lol.
