I did the same. I took mine off the truck. Cleaned them really good several times. I then gave them a good coat of primer and then a few coats of the Krylon satin black. I've had them for over a year now. And not one chip. Cost was about $10 bucks. And took about 2-3 hours from start to finish. Including drying time.

I plan on doing mine next weekend. I already tested out how well some sandpaper will scuff the steps and it does well. Plan on sanding the entires step, plastic inserts and all. The washing them real well, then wiping them down with some rubbing alcohol. Instead of primer and black spray I am going to use bed liner spray because of the texture in it. I hate going out on cold mornings when the dew has frozen on the steps......almost kill myself!!!

just finished all 89 pages!

thanks for all the detail I'm going to install the rear lights and need some info!

just wanted to find out, are there any problems in drilling into the hitch?

my hitch says not to cut, drill, weld or modify in any way?

also could you post a picture of how bright they are in the dark through the rear view camera??
do you know if you could swap the bulb for an led?

thanks for ur time!

no problem drilling into the hitch. your hitch disclaimer is just for liability coverage for hitch company or ford. drilling 2 small holes will not weaken the hitch. you could solder in an led if you really wanted to but id say its a waste of time. i dont have a rear view camera either. thanks for looking....havent been on here in a while.
