Best part is my friend picked up that car for about 9 grand and put a few more thousand into the motor.

Default Rod Rack

Hey Tuna, nice truck. Love the rod rack. Here's mine. Not as custom as yours but gets the job done.

You said the engine was out of an 04 M3, which would make the engine an S54.

This is an S54 engine...

Notice the difference in valve cover, oil fill cap location, intake but most importantly, the VANOS (DUAL) unit on the front of the head.

The engine you have is out of an E36 M3. Single VANOS. Except without the supercharger that this one has.

Nice truck by the way!

You didn't log onto a bimmers forum, but you did post a bmw on a ford forum.... not sure which is worse. Anyway, you strike me as a precise person based on what you have done to your truck and the neat rod holders you have crafted.

Not trying to start an argument, just trying to share my knowledge like you do.

I have never owned a bmw, but my job requires me to know a bit about them.

Don't burn me at the stake!

Thanks buddy. Did a new mod yesterday: painted the faded rubber mat that sits on the top of our dash. I don't know how everyone elses looks, but the sun had turned mine almost blueish-faded and there were marks all over it. This is a 10 second mod that makes a big difference! Took some left over rubberized black paint, wiped the mat off with paint prep, and shot a few heavy coats. DONE, and this paint is really tough.
