so i was thinking about the clearance lights and i think i just want to hardwire them so they stay lit all the time. Now if i hardwired to the battery w/o a switch they would stay lit all the time. So i guess i would have to hardwire into the fuse panel. Do you know how i would be able to do that?

Just wire to your DRLs or your own switch in the cab....you'll regret not doing it that way.

I could be wrong here, but none of our trucks have day time running lights unless it was a fleet vehicle. Just automatic lights.

maybe my terminology is off, but I'm talking about the "driving" lights, the inside bulbs in the headlights. I can turn mine on/off, auto, without the headlights being on.

Ah, right on. Before my Dad got his new company truck, we tried to take the DRL relay from his old truck and put it into my relay box. Though it had the spot for it, the connectors weren't there. It's not a huge deal, but it is just another safety factor I wouldn't mind having, hence why lots of companies make them mandatory. Just another great idea from Ford to save a buck.

Swag, you should definitely wire up a lights with a switch, either external or to your regular light switch.

Okay, so if I wire to a switch... I would wire them through the switch directly to the battery? Cuz wouldn't that, if I left the switch on, keep them on even uncranked?

Get a relay that has the center prong for a switch. Power the relay off the battery and switch off any Accessories wire/fuse
