setting it on level 2 makes it shift more firmly though correct, your talking about just making it shift even harder than that

Got my 3" level kit and AAL installed with 295 70 18 and atx Teflon wheels. The job was kind of a bummer but I got it handled. Pics are in progressive order. Stock, leveled and AAL, and then tires and wheels. Took the pics with my cell so not the best quality. I am extremely happy with the results though.

Tuna,
With each picture and post I think I fell more in love with your truck. It sure is a beauty; but you know that already. As good as your truck pics are, I think the best part of this thread is the detailed post and pictures of you doing your own mods. I just read all 50 1/2 pages of this thread and have learned so much ( not enough to tackle most of this on my own). I would say 80% of what I know about vehicles has been learned in the 6 months I've had my truck, and this thread helped tremendously. Before I got it I only cared about getting from point a-b. Other than getting an exhaust and spray in bed liner I am too indecisive about what I want. I like pretty much everything as long as it isn't lowered. That being said, I can just bring it up to you the next time you need a project truck and you can mod her out for me; and I will work on youor boat to pay it off, lol. All seriousness your truck is awesome.

this thread is a great benchmark to look at mods and how they are installed.

thinking about a mag hytec diff cover. you ever thought about running a trans pan by them too tuna?

when you used that redline fluid, it has the modifier in it right? did you notice the LS working any differently? my ls doesent seem to ever work or kick in and ive heard running less friction mod makes it work more but wears out clutches faster. do you ever notice your LS working? im wondering if its the right ratio in the red line fluid, since they also sell 4 oz bottles of friction mod.

any info you have is a help. thanks man. keep up the build

I'm glad you guys found the thread helpful. That was a main reason for starting it. I ended up adding about half a bottle of friction modifier. The rear felt fine, but after speaking with a good friend that's a mechanic, he encouraged me to go ahead and add more FM since the amount already in the lube isn't really sufficient enough in the long run. I haven't had a problem with my LS to my knowledge yet, and living up North in a rural area I have def been in sloppy situations and would feel it.

how do you know if it has the friction modifier in it? does it say specifically?
the techron and royal purples that I have seen don't specifically say, just says its made for ls and has syncro something in it.

If it says it's for LS applications, then it does have FM in it, but it might not be enough. The Red Line said it had FM in it, but also that you could add more if you felt a chatter. My mechanic friend said they usually don't have enough and he's very knowledgeable on those type of specifics so that was enough for me.

Btw Tuna didn't mean to hijack your thread just wanted to let you know about the level and AAL. Used your pics instead of the instructions that came with! Thanks again!
