glad to hear you had a good trip. how good was the milage before you got the EVO

I took a 500 mile trip last summer and used my evo one way and stock the other. They both read basically the same ampg at the end which was around 14.8-15. And real world numbers were around 13-14. So in my experience it doesn't do anything for mpg. But o do have my setting very very aggressive so maybe I could squeeze a little more efficiency out of it if I toned it down a bit

The first 300 miles of the trip I put it to the stock setting. I was at 14.5 to 15 AMPG. Rest of the voyage went back to level 2. I only have shift firmness set +1 for all 4 gears. I tried driving as conservatively as possible. I feel the Evo helps me control my foot to maximize mileage. Tranny temp was 150-154 the whole time, engine coolant 190-194. Makes me feel good about my cooling systems.

I know the manual says increasing shift firmness can increase the life of the tranny, but I've read a few posts where trannys blew and they had their shift firmness up high with the Evo so I don't really want to mess with it.

Nah its really nothing major. If you want it to shift like a caddy then defiantly don't up it but I love the way it feels. I don't see it doing any damage unless you are wot all the time. I don't think the evo can change enough to hurt anything any more then the person in the drivers seat. My opinion of course. But play with it. It's really fun to tweak it to your liking.
