Default Tufle's 08 Lariat Redheaded Stepchild mild build

Picked up my 08 Supercrew Lariat 5.4 last year. Didn't do anything to it for the 1st year other than add a level, mainly because it came pretty well equipped when I bought it.

When I bought her, she already had:
Under tailgate LED light strip
Line X spray in bed liner
Bedrug
XTang solid fold bed cover
Chrome everything (bumbers, steps, pillars, door handles, grill surround)
Flowmaster 40 Series dual catback exhaust

I added a level after having her for a few months. Then I decided I didn't like the tires that were on her. They were General Grabber UHP's which are summer tires. Great on the road, horrible on even grass. So I started looking for new tires, and ended up getting new rims as well. Got a great deal on some Cali Offroad Busted 20"x9" rims, and Amp Terrain Gripper AT G 285/55/20's. That totally changed the look of the truck. And has me wanting to do more.

So now the mods I have planned:
Paramount Raptor style DODD grill, with new letters so it spells out FORD
SCT-4 with custom tunes from MPT
Distressed American flag decals on the bed of the truck
R1 Concepts drilled and slotted rotors and brake pads

From there, I'm not 100% sure. I think I'll go that far, and decide if it needs more from that point. May want to start de chroming everything. I think the chrome looks fine now, and the rims tie everything together very well. But that may change with the new grill and decals.

How she sat when I bought her:

Then 1 week later when my engine blew and got replaced under warranty. Thank goodness I bought an extended warranty

Then with new wheels and tires: (biggest change in appearance by far)

I'll be ordering the next mods as soon as my taxes come in.

And I got a Paramount Raptor grill with the F&R from 3dogsracing on Ebay. F&R colors matched up perfect with the Paramount grill. I also got 3 tunes from MPT. 87 Perf chill, 93 Perf chill, and 93 Perf street.

Ended up doing a full front end rebuild this year. Upper control arms, ball joints, sway bar end links and bushings, Tie rod ends, new struts, and brakes. Went ahead and did a Rough Country 4 inch lift at the same time. Did it in my driveway on jack stands.

I technically did a 4inch/5inch lift. I didn't like the way the rear sat, so I swapped out the lift block for a 3inch block in the rear. Brought a slight rake back. (about a 1/2")

I like that the RC kits come with steel braided extended brake lines.

And the truck on the ground and done

Just added some new shocks to the rear. Did not like the RC shocks at all. Replaced them with some Bilstein 5160's.

Going to be adding a DV8 winch bumper, and some new Tyger side steps over the next couple of weekends. I'll post more pics when that gets installed.

Got some new goodies that are being installed this week. Tyger Star Armor side steps, and a DV8 full width front winch bumper. They cam in last week, and the truck is at the shop getting them installed now.

Progress being made post accident. Doors are nearly blocked out and ready for paint. Front end is disassembled and ready for the new bumper install. (shop is doing this, not me) She goes in for paint tomorrow, then the bumper and steps get installed Thursday. Should have her back Thursday evening.

More progress pics. The bumper is installed, and they sent me a pic before they taped off the rest of the truck for paint. There is a gap between the headlights and the bumper. But the body guy said he installed the bumper sides on the lowest setting, and will adjust them up once the truck is out of paint. Steps will get installed tomorrow after paint and polish is done, since they would be in the way. Looks like a completely different truck.

Going to pick her up this afternoon from the shop. These are the pics the shop sent me. The only thing that they have left to do is detail the truck.
