Tenx82's 2018 Scab Sport 4x4 (budget "build")
A few pics first, then the details:
As of today 05/26/2018 1.0" front level, 20x9 wheels, 275/60 tires
wheel liners, tint, & bed cover
Bed cover & tailgate vinyl
BedRug
Picked up my new truck 3rd week of January. Figured I would keep a written record of why my wallet is always crying. (I do try to be fairly frugal, so I will share info when I've gotten a good/great deal on something)
A little about her:
2018 F-150 XLT 4x4 SuperCab
302A Package
2.7L V6 EcoBoost
FX4 Off-Road Package w/ 3.55 gear
Navigation
Sync Connect
Sport Appearance Package
Blue box MSRP was $46,440. After dealer discount, rebates, & private cash, I paid $36,220 plus tax, including delivery from 160 miles away. Also managed $500 over book value for my trade. (On par with the best private offers I had gotten, plus saved me $1360 in tax)
Not a great deal, but definitely a good deal in my book.
Currently installed upgrades/mods:
20x9 +31 Verde V24 Invictus wheels
275/60r20 Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus
1.0" Summit Performace front level spacers
Sinoparcel LED Hi & Low bulbs
LED reverse bulbs
30% Llumar CXT tint on front windows
BedRug full bed liner
Extang SolidFold 2.0 bed cover
Matte black tailgate vinyl inserts
Husky X-act Contour front liners
Husky wheel well liners
Kicker Key 180.4 amp
Focal ISS 690 component front speakers
Focal ISC 165 coaxial rear speakers
PTM Oxford White badges and Sport grille
I'm a big fan of fishing for deals from Amazon Warehouse. Their "used-like new" is mostly just new products with opened/damaged packaging, and they always have free Prime shipping.
I scored the Husky mats for $58 and the wheel liners for $43. Both in new condition in damaged boxes.
The liners were missing the mounting hardware, but a quick call to Husky CS and they sent it to me 2-day Priority Mail at no cost, even after telling them the liners were purchased "used". Kudos to Husky on that one.
I think the wheels were my best score yet.
They're $229 each @ Tire Rack. I snagged them (again from AWD) for $64 each with Prime shipping!! And again, they were in new condition with damaged boxes. $275 w/ tax for all four.
The tires I also got at a bargain.
These are also $229 each @ Tire Rack (+tax/mount/balance). Simple Tire had them on sale for $176.37, so I called my local Discount Tire. They price matched to $175 each. So I got them for $832 total with tax/mounting/balance. BUT, these are rated a "Better" tire at DT, so I got a $75 online rebate! BUT, Pirelli is also running a promo, which got me another $70 rebate, bringing my grand total for the tires to a mere $687!
The Summit Performance level spacers were $29.95 shipped. Quality seems good, but fit wasn't exact. The bolt holes were just a hair off (about the thickness of the paint on them.). Gently coaxed them over the threads with a rubber mallet and all is good. If I did it again, I would try the MotoFab 0.5" spacer (gives a 1" lift also).
I did the install by myself in my driveway with basic hand tools, but I did have a local shop air hammer the splined bolts out for me (no charge but I gave him $20 anyway). Took me about 3 hours.
The bed cover was a craigslist find. A local guy turning in his leased 2016 Scab for a 2018 CCSB. Got the cover for $300. Put some adhesive on the separated seal (visible in last pic above) and it's good as new. Saved me $559.
Future plans
Replace FX4 stickers with gray ones
LED license plate lights
Stubby antenna
small sub & amp
Maybes
SE halogen headlights
seat covers
interior trim accents
powder coat wheels in white
I will post updates whenever my wallet allows me.
Thanks for checking it out, and for any feedback you might offer.

Finally got my audio upgrade finished. Went with 80 mil Noico dampener on all doors, doubled over the larger voids. The Kicker Key180.4 amp is mounted behind the 8" screen. It's powering Focal ISS 690 components in the front with Focal ISC 165 coaxials in the rear. Sound is vastly improved over stock.
Also got my grille and emblems removed and they're all being painted Oxford White. Actually got them back from paint last week, but had an issue with some of the work so they're being repainted.
And I got the LED hi & low beam bulbs installed. Haven't been able to take it for a night time drive yet, but judging from other comments about the bulbs, I think they'll be a nice improvement for $100.

Truck is looking great! I really like the simple, clean six-spoke design of those wheels I too picked up my wheels on Amazon for a crazy deal and Prime shipping, ended up being around $80 less EACH than I was finding them at other places, one box came a little beat but wheels were perfect. Really pays to be patient and keep an eye out for those deals.

Finally an update!!
Got my parts back from the paint shop, again. They came out much better this time. I had all the badges done solid white so I could change up colors easily with plastidip/vinyl if I want to.
