Lol. That's awesome, I'll be 5.1 miles. My current drive is 18.7 miles, so I'll save a bit in gas too.

Oh man!You sound like me with almost anything I do, except for spreadsheets. I somehow keep it all in my head. I used to draw out floor plans for others to see, and the building departments. Funny thing, seems like most people can't visualize what the finish product looks like until they"re in it.
Yes, wainscoting is the right term. I like color combos you're talking, and that reclaimed, [weathered barn siding?], really looks good with a raised grain. Geez, I can go and on about houses too!

Yeah, I'm a spreadsheet junkie. I don't know all the formulas and such, but I know a good bit. I love using them to keep track of things like that. I used to not be able to visualize anything, but that's since changed. Lol

Perfect. I do too, the dark gray walls will really break up the white. Yessir, there's currently one in there, but it's old fence boards (literally still has the rounded top) so I'm tearing that out and doing it proper. I can too. Lol. I'm addicted to modifying stuff, although not anywhere near what some on here do. Lol. I plan to do everything I can myself to save money, and I enjoy it. I'll be doing the tile work myself, the wainscoting, try my hand at drywall repair, etc. I'm pretty handy so there's not much I won't at least attempt.

DRYWALL!!!! I HATE that!!! Concrete and drywall were always things I'd hire out, including roofing. I had my own personal Sicilian for concrete. Great guy, straight from the "Olde Country". He and his family treated me like gold. I had my own building company for 25 years, specialized in framing, and also did electrical, and siding. Tried to never do remodels, except on my own and my partner. Had to quit when I moved up here, no reliable help what so ever. Meth labs and growing weed are about the only industry local. Crap, there's really very little crime, everyone is stoned out so bad they can't find their way out the door. Well, TBH, the forest products industry is alive and well.
It's surprised me we don't have a building type forum here, I'm sure you and I aren't the only two that have knowledge in the building trades.

I've never messed with it other than patching nail holes, a decent sized hole in Corpus, and cutting it out after it got wet. Lol. I figure it's one that I can try, and if it looks bad call someone at that point. I'm actually certified to test concrete, my last job had all the field engineers trained on it. Never tried actually pouring and finishing, but I have measured rebar spacing on site. I know how to run electrical, plumbing, etc. Haven't messed with framing or siding either, but I may try siding when I get around to it. We had a terrible time with contractors down here after the hurricane. Even the well rated ones were doing ****-poor work because they were trying to get done quickly. Leaves me skeptical to call anyone as I'm a definite perfectionist.

I'm not too surprised. I'm sure they're trying to keep it focused on F-series trucks so it doesn't get cluttered where new people (or even old members) can find things without getting lost. But I'm sure there's plenty of people on here with construction knowledge, I know I've seen a few people that do painting. That's just the ones I've seen mention it.

I'll post some when I've got it! Don't want to post the one pic I've got inside the garage with all his toys in it. It wasn't posted on the listing, so I figure he doesn't want them all over the internet. I'm planning to insulate the doors and put some type of AC system in there.

Nailpops and cracks where the ceiling and walls intersect is all I'll do. If the drywall is nailed/screwed correctly, the ceiling/wall thing can be prevented. I've got a couple cracks up here because the drywallers wouldn't listen.
Oh.you know what drywallers are, don't you?

They're the roofers that fell off the roof and got scared!

I've got a bunch of tape falling in the garage on the ceiling, so I'll have that to work with too. Lol. That'll be the testing ground before I start messing with inside the house. If I can get my drywall skills down I can save a lot when/if I pull down those two walls. I've hung drywall before, just never done the mudding.

Hahaha. That's great!
