I still am torn though. I have read several reports of the F150leds rings not lasting long. If I have bad luck with them, I will consider the ambient cupholders and wiring, but its not likely. Let me know if you come across anything that works. But its not like I won't see it in your build thread, lol.

If you try the ambient lighting from the factory get the one from 15-17, 18 lost the ability to change the color from blue. 15-17 has 6 (iirc) colors to choose from. You'd need the harness or to tap into the existing, and then make a change with Forscan. I believe it's fairly simple, but I can't swear to it. BGG added it to his XLT, and then some.

I went to the EL Wire site. Their stuff might work for what I have in mind. It appears you wire them directly into a 12 volt source. I wondering if those USB ports inside the console are lit without opening the console, or only lit with your lights on. Have to check that out.

Completely off kilter, but in regards to interior lighting. The wifes bare bones fiesta (2012), had really nice interior lighting. The decked out 2014 Escape didn't have it at all. I loved the interior lighting lol

We have it in our 16 Explorer Limited, my wife loves it. I may have to dig into the ambient lighting thread.
