Minor update coming tomorrow. It's amazing when you support a vendor verbally and they send you free stuff! (didn't happen here, it was on a Facebook group)

Well here it is. @BuiltRight Industries my stubby antenna. Received this as a gift for supporting their seat release as opposed to the cheap Chinese knock-off being sold all over Amazon and ebay. There was a Facebook group talking about it and since I already own the seat release, I had to come to their defense over the knock-off. Unbeknownst to me and several others, BuiltRight offered to send us one of their new stubby antennas! After install, I checked all my usual stations and they all came in crystal clear. Thanks BuiltRight!!

That was nice of them to send you the antenna as a gift. Also good to know your still getting great reception with a shorter antenna. Looks like its a bit thicker then some of the other brands I have seen too.

That's great Jon! Nice of them to do that!
I always thought they were a standup company.

In the package was a nice decal, the antenna and a o-ring. After testing reception, I removed it and used a little blue loctite on the threads to deter any 5 finger thieves.....

Also should note I am between 30 to 75 miles away from some of the stations that were still coming in as clear as the 13" modified factory antenna I had on.

Wonder what they do to make it work that good?
Well, I couldn't let you get too far ahead of me, I ordered one after reading your post. I really don't care about the reception that much since I either play a CD or listen to Hair Nation, Boneyard, and a couple others on Sirius. I like the look of the short antennas. Good idea with the Loctite, think I'll do the same.

Awesome John! You will love it. Very quality piece, I even like how they stamped BuiltRight into it.

That is a very good idea I haven't thought of. When I transferred my stubby from the Canyon to the F-150, it was barely hanging on by a few threads despite it having been tightened months earlier. That truck had the antenna on the roof. Old thing is definitely weatherbeaten now, but it still does the job.
