Hey Jon, I need a little info from ya. That keypad you installed on the driver door. Does that just snap in? I'd like to remove mine when I do the "B" pillars.

Well I installed mine into the trim before putting the new pillar on the truck. Interesting that you bring it up, my keypad is not working AGAIN. I ordered a new one and if this one craps out, the old pillar will be installed and not more keypad for me. If I remember right, it just snaps in.

You put a lot of work into that too. What could be making them go bad? Water getting in there somehow?
I'll try using a trim removal tool or something on it then. The last time I Took one of those covers off,it wound up in two pieces.

I thought I would use the keypad a lot. I've used it once when I needed something out of the truck and the keys were inside the house. Saved me a few steps...That's about it.

I did but it's not worth the worry if it will work when I want it too. The clip is on the top and the tab insert on the bottom if that makes sense. I'll try this new keypad and if it goes, its gone and the old panel back on.

I'm like you Mike. Thought I would too. Turns out I really only use it when I go outside to the garage, then decide to get in the truck for whatever (usually to clean it) if I left the keys inside, it saves me a step. But while out in public at a store or wherever, I dont ever use it.

Exactly the dealer said you can lock your keys in the car if you don't want to carry them with you. That sounds like a bad idea.

Oh, and I got home from baseball practice with my boy tonight and the damn tailgate didn't unlock! I am not happy. A full bag of team gear, 2 buckets of baseballs, sons bat bag and water jug, all lifted out of the bed because the tailgate would not unlock. I took a nice long video to show my dealer. Part of me thinks the 2 are related, except the tailgate has been unlocking fine for a while even though the keypad is not.

True. I will NEVER even attempt that now, even with a new keypad.
