just remove all piping, mufflers, cats and call it a day. Then you'll earn extra kool points.

How's she goin' eh?
My ranger had an MBRP kit. I loved it was hidden, I am not a fan of dual tips that look like **** and are hacked in place. The MBRP kit had drone tho. It sounded great at idle and there was a rumble but after 2500/3000 rpm it droned bad.

Agh, what the hay... I'll type this out.
I too leave early for work, and besides that I don't like superloud exhausts when I have to drive said exhaust every dang day.
I am in the process of duplicating a wicked-sounding single exhaust system I had in a '63 Fairlane, behind a 347-inch stroked 302 Windsor that made 395HP/420lb-ft with good heads, long tubes and 2.5" headpipes to a Flowmaster Y-Collector. That collector was a neat piece with dual 2.5"in/ single 3" out; it was perhaps more aerodynamic than the collector that lives under our passenger footwell in our trucks. For now, though, I'm going to keep the OE collector in the truck.
But unlike that custom single 3" system I had in that car, our trucks have a 2.5" single pipe! that exits that 3" collector. Next in our OE setup is a 2.5" in/out round-case resonator, more 2.5" pipe, then the big, rearmost oval muffler just before the axle, also 2.5" in/out. Then, Ford goes back to 3" pipe!? for the over-axle tailpipe...
All I have done so far in my truck is to swap the rearmost muffler for a Flowmaster Series 70, a 3-chamber "Big Block" muffler; all the rest is still stock.
I now need to source a larger resonator, something like a Magnaflow with a 3" in/out, and use 3" pipe to my Flowmaster, so there is nothing but 3" pipe after the Coyote's headpipes' collector.
When I had that Windsor, I ran the system using the same Series 70 3-chamber, both with and without the resonator (a nice stainless Walker Ultraflow, 3" in/out 16" long) and am here to tell you the system sounded WAY better WITH the resonator. Not only was it a little quieter, it took away the drone but left that bitchin Calypso-music steel-drum snarl inherent in most Flowmasters. I want that sound again in my truck (although the motors are much different in execution but produce similar airflow CFM). All 400HP needs is one 3" pipe, believe it or not.

Just got my extended license with FORScan and ordered my USB adapter off Amazon. I'm dangerous now!! First order of business will be the Bambi mod, followed by enabling the door keypad so I can get my factory code and then installing the pillar trim and keypad. Thats one feature I miss the most from my 07.
