Default Summers22 STX Lightning Blue build

Well finally got a new truck again, only took 26 years since my last new truck (91 Extended Cab Ranger STX 4x4, 4.0 V6 5 speed manual). Hope this one is as good as that one was.

So I found this truck exactly how I would have ordered it, Supercrew STX RWD with the 5.0 Coyote and 3.55 e-locker. Some options include trailer tow with brake controller, trailer assist, rear-view camera, SYNC 3 with 8" screen all wrapped up in Blue Lightning paint. Only thing that it didn't have that I would have liked is carpet. We will get to that later.

Picked up the truck today, 8/14/17 with 24.4 miles on it. I opted for the 6 year, 125K bumper to bumper warranty.

Merry Christmas to me!! Stashed them in my middle boys room for safe keeping. Heading out for the evening, enjoy!

First order of business, my 5 year old showing off his Blue Flame F150 next to my Blue Lightning F150. He is thrilled we have matching trucks!!

It hit me to take a pic of the odometer on my first drive home:

Then I removed all dealer advertising (front license plate w/holder, rear license plate frame and decal in tailgate). Looks so much cleaner with out the front plate holder.

First actual addition to the truck, Ford hitch plug

Then up was a set of OEM wheel well liners. These are a breeze to install compare to the Rugged Liners I had on my 07.

Nice, did Ford change the parameters for Max tow? The last generation Max tow required the ecobust engine.

I am not real sure, honestly. It has an integrated brake controller, 6800# GVWR Package with trailer assist and trailer tow package. Its is rated for 11,100 pounds. So maybe it isnt the Max tow.

If you look, right in front of the intake scoop is an opening that is behind the active shutters behind the grille. Gotta think it has something to do with that.

Ohhh yeah the shutter thing. Hmm well it's certainly interesting. They didn't have the active shutters in the 90's that much is certain, lol.

Well the OEM painted fender flares should be here tomorrow. Should get them on this weekend. I also have H11 LED's and chrome 7444 front turn signal bulbs on the way. Already have 9140 LED foglight bulbs and just want to pick up a set of LED's for the license plate bulbs. After that will be Ford Racing/Ground Force 1.5" lowering shackles. I am actually digging the vinyl floor. My thought is some Lund Catch-it carpeted hard floormats. Of course, some little touches here and there, emblems, badges, window tint etc.
