So, I thought I would start a build thread on my most recent purchase! If you haven't read my introduction thread, it can be seen here: My Intro Thread
I loved the original Bigfoot and later in life, found out the original owner is related to me, but I don't think I ever got to meet him? I wanted something as close to that truck as I could find for years, since I'm not a fan of long beds, I wasn't looking for one of them, but found plenty.
Like I mentioned in my intro thread, it took me a long time to find this gem, but I found it last weekend and picked it up last Monday afternoon.
1995 XLT, SWB, Auto, 5.0, loaded, 4x4 shift in floor, 4" lift, the wheels I wanted, even the color I wanted! These are the pics from FB marketplace:
I test drove it and it rode so well, I was absolutely shocked how well it was for a lifted 30 year old truck! And that the interior had 300k miles on it!
This is the info from the FB post:
Engine was rebuilt a few years ago and has roughly 45k miles on it, body has 300k miles but has had a ton of parts replaced recently
Southern Cylinder Head and Engine (5.0) ported/polished the heads and put a torque cam in it
4 Wheel Drive Store regeared it to 4.10, 4WD works great, all gears work
Beefed up steering with Superlift Superunner Steering Conversion Kit
Upgraded the suspension from a block lift to lifted leaf springs
New bushings
New Warn locking hubs
New inner and outer wheel bearings
New transmission
New battery
Everything on this truck works including power windows, power lumber, power locks, the AC blows ICE COLD, and heat blows hot
Comes with the original hood, a full-size spare tire, tool box, and the bed is rhino lined
I had to drive back to work to do some paperwork and took a pic of it under the lights outside.
I was so excited when I got home, that I started taking all the "redneck" parts off! I took the toolbox off, the diamond plate bed/tailgate caps off, the step bars off, the nasty vent visors off, the brush guard off, the super dark tint on the vent windows, the bronze tint on the drivers side window and all the rocker stainless steel trim off and walked in for bed at 11pm! The next day, I got insurance and my tag and took a pic of how it looked now:
When I got home from work Wednesday, I put the stock hood on and removed the adhesive from the rockers on the drivers side:
The exhaust that someone did was poorly done and too loud for me!
The truck already had headers on it, so I got all new 2.25" pipes ran to a Flowmaster 40 Series Dual In/Dual Out Muffler and dual angled rolled tips out the rear! It sounds so much nicer now!

I finally had some time to do some research and ran the parts numbers from the receipts he gave me. According to the receipts, it has 4" ProComp front springs and rear leaf packs, it has an aluminum pinion angle wedge as well. It has a bunch of new suspension parts in the front, as well as Rough Country lower arms. Sitting on what looks like Vision 8 hole 15"x10's with 33x12.50 BFG's.
Everytime I looked at the rear bumper, something was just off about it, (not including the dent and the way it looked twisted), and I finally realized the rear bumper wasn't the correct one, it was a 97-up bumper! And the front bumper had the holes in it from the brush guard and a massive dent behind the tag area!
I've ordered all this stuff from LMC, eBay and RockAuto Tuesday night:
New Chrome front bumper w/new valance w/o impact strip
New Chrome rear step bumper w/pad
New Chrome OEM Grille/Ford Emblem
New Headlights with Super-white Bulbs
New Black/Chrome side moldings
New Grey Headliner
New Soft Grey Dash Pad
New Door Panels
New Instrument Cluster Bezel
Misc Interior parts
Misc Window/Door parts
Full Motorcraft tune-up kit
New Black/Chrome Mirrors
Thursday night, I ordered some more interior parts from LMR!
This morning, I made another order from LMC, mostly LED bulb upgrades, hood springs (mine are missing...) and new Grey Carpet.
And just now, I made another RockAuto purchase, just small things, that I know I'll need, when everything else is out of the truck!
I need to remove the cluster and ship it off to get tested/repaired, since she has 299k miles on it!
I'm going to see if I can clean up the wheels tomorrow and if they're nice? If they are, I guess I'll stick with the 10" wide ones and just order new tires? If not, I'm going to order some 15x8 American Racing 8 hole wheels with 35x12.50 All Terrains. This truck will never go offroad, as long as it's in my possession! That's what my new Bronco is for
Then, I'll get her painted and it'll be my old truck for the rest of my life!

I remember reading your Introduction Yesterday with the Broncos and can't find it now? And when i click on Your Intro Thread nothing happens?
I see that as well... Says awaiting admin approval again? I looked at it last night and noticed I had a sentence that went nowhere, so I deleted it....
You would think if I paid $25 to be a supporting member, I wouldn't have to wait for anything to be approved?
It should be fixed soon, I would assume? It took them at least a day to approve my introduction post.
Not going to lie, the truck didn't look bad with the "redneck parts" on it, but I understand it's not for everyone haha. I'm looking forward to seeing the restoration on it though.
Quite the intro thread, you’ve had some nice Fords and I dig the Broncos. My condolences for the loss of your parents.
As you’ll notice my username, I’m pretty fond of a certain 95 even though it rarely makes an appearance on this forum (my 2015 has a thread). My parents bought my 95 in 2000 from the estate of a neighbor, my older sister drove it then I took it over when I got my license in 2003. I still have it, retired, until I can do a proper restoration.
Looking forward to following this build, I always loved the short beds (mine is an 8ft’er). Perhaps I’ll get some ideas from you I can use on my own!

Just not my thing anymore. I would've liked it when I was a kid 30 years ago, but not now. I don't like all the diamond plate anymore and toolboxes aren't my thing anymore either. The step bars were bent on the passengers side and the bar grille and brush guard just isn't what I think it needs anymore. I don't even like cowl hoods, unless the vehicle came with one from the factory

Fair enough. Do you have anything specific in mind for the truck, besides the restoration?

Thanks! I don't mind sharing all the madness I do to my vehicles! Thank you for your condolences! It still feels weird not having either of them here anymore.. Mom always loved seeing what I did with my mind, vehicles or home renovations! Dad was more of a don't waste your money on these things kind of guy, he never said anything looked good, just things like, you've put a fortune into this thing, LOL!
I'm not too keen on which models are better than the others? I just wanted an 87-96 OBS SWB, it didn't have to be a 4x4 either, I would've dropped a 2wd
We don't usually get any bad weather here, except for last January, we got about 4" thick of solid ice. I drove my Jeep to work, threw some boxes in the dumpster, took a pic of the Jeep, then went home, LOL!
Took my wife and old boy Pitbull out yesterday and they both liked it! You can actually see my boy Pit in my Jeep above!
I'm just looking to clean up the old Ford and drive it occasionally to work/Lowe's and maybe Cars & Coffee, if I can get past all the new Italian and Japanese sports cars....? I'll easily have twice as much as I paid for it, in the truck soon, LOL! I gotta sell the Goblin to recoup some money...
