I got the Bedtred Ultra in from BedRug this week. I ordered it through tonneaucoversworld.com as they were the best on price/shipping that I could find to Atlanta.

I wasn't able to find a lot of reviews on this bed liner as it is fairly new. I found some installation videos on YouTube that a couple of companies had put out and it seemed to be the right balance of what I was looking for. It simulates a spray in bed liner feel but with their padded/temporary install of the BedRug. I really wanted something that could handle mulch/yard supplies but also provide a platform in the bed that was more comfortable. The BedRug just seemed like it would be hell with getting mulch out of it so that wasn't really an option for me. I went ahead and bit the bullet figuring if I didn't like it...I could just take it back out and sell it.

It ships to you in a regular long cardboard box with all of the pieces rolled up in it.

Once you get all of the pieces out, you can see the ridges in the bottom and the rest of the molded sections. It is vehicle specific.

The entire cover is attached through velcro to the truck. The backside is the soft loop section while they provide heavy duty hook that is adhesive backed. The sections are attached together with heavy duty zippers. You start by putting the hook velcro (pre-cut for you) on the sections and then you zip everything together. After that...you lay it in the truck, clean the sections with alcohol that will see the adhesive backing and then work your way around the truck.

Here are the zippers. This is also what water drains through to your factory drainage points. One of their "selling features" is that this is still possible because spray isn't clogging those holes.

Everything is pretty straight forward from there. You have all the hardware removed prior to laying it in and then you start marking holes and reinstalling those items as you move around. There are not pre-cut holes for the LED lighting but I found a good DIY on YouTube about how one company cut them in. As you can see...that worked out just fine and they are secure.

The liner is actually a first for them (I believe) to have the hinge protector. I personally like the idea as I hate getting rocks and mulch down in the tailgate area. Rocks really like to scratch that area up and this is not a work truck.

A couple of notes.
  • I did have to trim a couple of sections that the top of the liner. There are sections of our bed where it can not tuck under (3 spots per side). That wasn't mentioned but marking and scissors worked perfect. I just kept taking a little bit by bit until it was good.
  • I bought some extra heavy duty velcro from WalMart. While it is great to have all of the pre-cut sections, I wanted to have a little bit more security. For example, they call for 5 - 1 inch sections on the very back next to the tailgate just past the lights. Since that is exposed to the elements, I really didn't want any gaps so I ran a complete strip down instead. I also surrounded the LED bed lights with velcro to secure that more.

I haven't been able to use it for anything yet but so far I like it. It really looks great in the truck and the padding on the bottom makes the bed much more usable for people to be in. My knees didn't hurt after the install and that will also be an added benefit for my 5 year old son who likes to play back there. The surface seems durable enough for light use (slate chips, mulch, pinestraw, etc.). Time will tell if the padded surface can really take the abuse.

For those that were wondering about water/drainage. It POURED rain here this morning and here is how everything looks without moving the truck at all. Everything beads up and drains as it should.

Also...here are a few shots I took of the truck while traveling this week.

Removed the front air dam. From everything I have read, it doesn't do much and it looks horrible. Much better.

it is interesting. It has worked out great so far. Used the bed to move some stuff this weekend and it performed great.

Looks great, me and you have the same truck and have done the same mods so far, just found this thread today. I will be removing the air dam as well. For me, I added a 2.5" level on the front and wow did it make the truck look and sit better. I have a sport version of the Lariat grille painted to match the truck, it's going on today. I'll post pics if anyone is interested. I'll probably have the Lariat chrome grille for sale if anyone lives in the Nashville area.
