Been working on my project for the last year and figured it was time to write a build thread. There are some awesome builds on here and I hope one day to get there. Progress is slow but feels like I've made some good headway.

I started with this pile, a 2007 FX4 extended cab with 236,000 miles, a blown motor, a rusted to crap front bumper, and a host of other problems.

Step one, new motor. Purchased a reman engine from ford right out of the gate. Took two weekends to get it up and running. Added new manifolds, pulleys, starter, battery, a bunch of vac lines, transmission cooler, rotors, pads, etc. tires were shot so put some stock size used Craigslist finds on to get me thru the winter.

Additionally, we got it out on the road and the gauge cluster was acting funny. New one of those from eBay. First fill-up, gas starts pouring out of the top of the tank. Didn't notice but there was a huge hole in the tank! After the new gauge cluster was installed, it threw a code or 10. I needed to replace a catalytic converter, and both o2 sensors and all the associated fuses.

Made it through the winter without any major breakdowns. Motor ran like a top and Used it to pull a trailer as my wife and I were moving. Once the weather changed, it was time for some cosmetic repairs. I mentioned earlier that my front bumper was rusted to hell and back. For Christmas, my wife bought me a new painted to match bumper.

Additionally, and since the weather was nice for outdoor projects in March, I added a hell-bent steel 2.5 inch leveling kit, and some 33" nitto terra grapplers that I got off of Craigslist for $150. Definitely improved the look of the truck!

That's about all I had planned for the build stance-wise, until for my birthday, my wife surprised me with a present....bushwhacker painted to match fender flares. She saw an F-150 with them and loved the look so got them and had them painted with the help of my buddy. Great gift, but the track needed an altitude adjustment to get the flares to look right.

So, I added a Trailmaster 6" suspension lift, 35" Mickey Thompson MTZ's on moto metal wheels. The back spacing on the wheels allows the tires to protrude just he right amount for the flares, which I have yet to install.

As for the suspension lift, I was pretty pleased with the quality of it despite not hearing much about it on the forum.
With the level and the 33's and then the rear lift completed

Installed the bushwhackers today. Installation was pretty straightforward. Really like what it did for the truck's looks.
