Default o2 sensor on my 2005 f150

Could someone please tell me what is causing my o2 sensor to go out. I have replaced it 3x's now. It is running sluggish, no power, slight miss and the other day it died all gauges would not work and had to let it sit a minute before it would start. Any suggestions on what this could be?

Probably from your engine misfiring. When is misfires extra fuel goes into the exhaust system, which can contaminate your cat with fuel and will eventually melt the inner structure of the cat but can also foul your O2 sensor. Misfire could be from fouled spark plugs or a bad coil. I would put money on the plugs need to be changed, have they been changed before? How many miles on the plugs that are in it?

Side note do some research on these plugs before you attempt to change them. There is a specific procedure to take them out so they don't break off in the head.

Ok and be sure to research the plug change the dealer will charge you $300-700. If you do it yourself the plugs are about $7-12 a piece, they require a special 9/16 spark plug socket, there is a TSB on how to change them to reduce the chance of them breaking, if you break one there is a tool to remove it without removing the head.
