Land we are buying from the neighbors.
Couple of old “haunted” buildings back there!

There is also a buried tank car from the old railway that used to pass through here.

We're buying 50 acres that backs up to our land. There is a lot of growth in Tennessee right now and we want our privacy. We negotiated with them before they even thought of selling off part of their land. I don't want some friggin sub-division going up back there in the future.
The buildings used to be a train station/ water station for the steam cars waaaaaaay back in the day. Fed by a natural spring. The rail car is super cool. We will leave it "as-is"! The owner has brush hogged a walking trail back there which I will keep maintained. The rail tracks were pulled up in the 40's, I think!
you know I just love haunted/abandoned places so there is no way any of it will be changed.

We have the same thoughts. I had a neighbor that asked me if I would grant a right of way thru my property to his, so he could market it. Of course, the answer was no, and I told him I'd be more interested in buying. Well, he jacked the price to much more than land was going for. That was about 10 years ago. He's still sitting on it.
That's really cool having that stuff there, any thought of opening up that tank car just to see what it looks like?

The fill port on the tank has been open as long as it's been there. Who knows what's in there. I can see about 6' of leaves and compost. I will most likely weld it shut for liability reasons.

Ya, that's likely the best thing to do. I don't think it would be a good idea either to drop down in it without a sniff. Never know what you might find, along with not enough O2.
