Those gears seem to be the trigger on getting a 9.75" on a Gen 13 too. One of the best deals Ford offers, I think the charge from 3.55 with 8.8" to a 3.73 with a 9.75 was only $50.

Looking forward seeing it. My diff cover is UGLY.

I don't know guys, mines a 9.75 with 3:55 gears. I'm thinking it has to do with the 3.5 Ego.

Your right John. I was thinking about RCSBs and you can't get 3.5 EB in those.

So, is your diff an 8.8 Mike? My next question is, do the 8.8’s in the 13th gen’s take the same cover as the old school 8.8’s like we’re in my Mustangs. There seem to be a lot more covers to chose from for the 8.8’s.
I had really nice TrickFlow “girdle” covers on my 8.8’s. Ribbed, drain and fill plugs and carrier bearing cap supports. They were very strong and looked real nice. With the power you are making, I’d get one with bearing cap supports.

No I think mine is 9.75"
Here a picture of it. I'm not sure anyone has figured out what the trigger is for a 9.75". Just when I thought I had it figured what trigger one then one pops up like John's and proves me wrong.

Looks exactly the same as mine. 9.75, I hope. Guess we’ll see when the cover gets here. I don’t plan on installing it quite yet but I’ll compare the new and old before I pull anything apart.

How in the world can you tell the difference between a 8.8 and a 9.75 just by a picture? Lol.
