Next truck I just might buy down there if the transportation charge is dropped/cheaper. I get them on the A/Z plan anyway, so the price of the truck would be the same. Only thing, I don't know the dealers down there like I do here.

I don’t think the Dest Charge is dropped... I think it’s set to be averaged for deliveries across the country. I’m pretty sure I’m paying the full Dest Charge as listed on the website and sticker.

I would literally sign the paperwork at the dealer and Uber over to the lot to pick it up to save that dest charge... it’s less than 4 miles... come on.

Its all part of the business operations, budgeting and contracts... they have to move trucks all over the country, and each location clearly has a different cost of delivery... for every Metro Detroit dealership (nearly zero delivery cost), there’s a dealership in Juneau, AK, or Waikiki, HI, or Key West, FL.... etc. kind of hard to sell vehicles far from their manufacturing if each destination had varying fees... people would drive a few hundred miles to save a few hundred dollars... or they’d have to pay an additional $4k in Alaska... yuck.

Ya, now you mention that, I vaguely recall hearing that. Oh well, it was a thought.

Picked it up today!!!

I knew it was delivered before my dealer did, thanks to JCT PALS! I emailed him the delivery invoice minutes after it was delivered and called him and said “I’m on my way”.

We has to drive over to the body shop to grab it and bring it up to the service department to get it prepped... so my first photos are right off the truck and it’s still dirty.

It’s too late to take any “clean” photos.. maybe tomorrow morning I’ll take a few.

For tonight, I’m going to put on the shorty for my drive to work tomorrow to check it’s reception.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll have the tailgate dampener and wind deflectors on. Gotta wait until this weekend for the rear wheel well and all four mud guards.

Looks good, bud! I did the same thing with my salesman haha. You shouldn't have a problem with the shorty. Our towers around here are more than strong enough. Enjoy the new ride!

Yup... I would have liked to keep them until I saw them. But the wife wisely didn’t like them.

She had seen them before and when we walked by a truck with them, she pointed out all the blotchiness: if you don’t tape them off when you wax the truck, they almost absorb the wax and they look like crap. Heaven forbid you go to a drive through car wash..

So I’m happy.

Don’t know if I’ll get to removing the Sport 4x4 decal before this weekend, but it’s coming off.

Just realized something...

Let me know if you see it...

How in the hell did something Chrome make its way onto a Special Edition?

Now I have to order an aftermarket exhaust tip.

It might be held on with a hose clamp if I’m lucky

In this case, a round peg, in a square hole. LOL It'll come right off. Mine had a round tip, but it was chrome too, only chrome on the truck. Can't see how someone thought that looked good.
