Got it. Thanks!
I would need to mask it off anyway because I would prefer the background to be black, and I don’t want to blow all that dip into my bug screen. That would make an ugly mess and block even more air.

I had to run some back roads today to get across the Niobrara River. I crossed just north of Red Bird heading for Lynch. Wow that road is getting rough!

Shout out to anyone who even knows where this is. If you ran it today your truck can’t be clean anymore.

This is the first time I have hit pothole roads and washboards and had traction control activate brakes on me. That was different.

I haven't found a bug deflector that I am really excited about putting on this truck. I had PTM one on my last truck but was undecided that I really liked it better than an unprotected hood. I haven't seen any that really deflect the bugs anymore so really all they are doing is protecting the paint on your hood.

So with that being said I bought some 3M clear paint protection film and have watched several You Tube videos on how to install it. I would like to clay bar that section of the hood before applying the film. Then I hope to find the time to clay bar the rest of the truck, then put some hybrid ceramic wax on it.

To much "home" work to do today to even steal a glance at the truck.

I think some raptor center caps would tie in nicely with everything!

Hhmmmm, I haven’t even considered them. I will need to do some looking around and see if I can find them, and what they cost.

Thanks

Tasca parts sells them for $12.38 a peice, not a bad price! If I get a set of those wheels I'll be putting them in place of the blue ones. I like how all the super duty wheels have the same ones from the factory.

I finally adjusted my AFE bias today to get the mpg readout to show a more accurate version of my fuel economy. That was so easy I wonder why I didn't do it long ago.
Well part of the reason I didn't do it already was because I didn't know it could be adjusted. I saw it mentioned in @Summers22 build thread then I read a little on it. I have always tracked my mpg, but I haven't recorded the "supposed" mpg (Lie -O-Meter) according to the truck, until about a month ago. So now I should have enough solid data to make a good adjustment. I reset the offset to 945, and plan to continue recording the data and see if the offset needs tweaked. I have attached a link to the full mpg adjustment thread below.

I checked my MPG after about 900 miles since messing with the AFE bias and was pretty happy with the new adjusted Lie-O-Meter results. 22.4 on the Lie-O-Meter, and 22.45 hand calculated. That's almost like "Bank error in your favor".
I will continue to record the LOM as well as actual to see if I want to attempt to dial it in any further.

I was walking past the truck today and was surprised to see all the crud caught in the screen behind the grill.
The stuff that looks like lint is from the cottonwood trees.

Once the heat of the day had left, I went out and cleaned the bug guts off the front of the truck and clay barred the hood. After the clay bar I hit it with Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax. I had seen it in @SPOAT build thread so I thought I’d give it a try. Looks good so far. Hopefully I can wash the rest of it tomorrow and get the clear paint protection film on the front of the hood.
