The new VB fixed the shifting problem. It's still a little soft at WOT, but Dan (Silverfox) is working with me on it.
The 4+1 mod should really be called the 3+1 mod. You basically stuff another clutch in the stack... You end up with 4 clutches on each side, and a tighter stack so it'll bite a bit harder. I had to add in a bit more friction modifier, but it definitely grabs more than before.

Here's the rocker install. All of the push rods were a tad to short, so I rigged up a jig on the bench grinder to grind some off. I used a right angle to make sure they were still flat. I did check the contact points with the sharpie and whatnot, I just didn't get pics of it. 1\2 turn seemed to be the sweet spot. Here's a ground down pedestal:

All done, with the rockers, lol:
I primed the oil pump until I saw oil pressure on the gauge, and the fired it. It's actually VERY quiet. I can hear them if I listen for them, but my GTP (which one has roller fulcrums) is louder. I've only driven it home and so far, so good. I didn't get into it, but I did notice a difference climbing the hills.

An old post but, I've been away for quite a few years. Love the direction you took, it's a very similar direction I'm taking with mine. I started in the rear though, it has Ford Racing 4.10 gears with a Ford Racing Trac-Lok diff. Getting a Monster Transmission 4R70W with higher stall and shift kit next. Then to on to the motor. Still undecided exactly what I'll do there but, definitely want to make it peppy!

Like the guy above said, old post but I’m commenting in a way of saving it. Love to do some of that top end stuff to my 95’s 5.0.
