I bought a 2007 F-150 Lariat on wednesday of last week. It was a Canadian model re-imported into the US (made in MI originally) in 2010. This thread is more for me than anyone else, I'm documenting the modifications and changes/repairs I'm making to it.

Edit to add: 73,916 miles when purchased, bought for $16,500 out the door. NADA had it at $22,400. I stole this truck.


Stock specs:

5.4L V8
Power everything (even sliding rear window)
Heated captain's chairs
Engine block heater
Heated, power fold, signal mirrors (with puddle lamps and auto-dim)
3.73 gear ratio, 7,200# gvwr
35.7 gallon gas tank
Reverse sensing system
Enhanced Automatic Climate Control
4 Wheel Disc ABS


Mods/Repairs performed:

Removed the DRL resistor, easy peasy. Taped off the open socket and gave it a good gob of liquid black tape then zip-tied it back to the frame.

All LED interior lights (Map/Dome/Footwell)

LED plate lights

Dual dash cams (Mini 0805 front and rear mounted)

Purchased and installed Wade Front floor liners and Husky rear floor liner - Pictures here

Replaced all external lamps with LEDs - Pictures here

New LED puddle lights

Cooper Discoverer AT/3s and a Dead Pedal installed.

First attempt at aux backup lights, wired directly into reverse lines (bad idea, circuit not made for it and introduces noise into reverse sensors)

Second attempt at aux backup lights, wired appropriately.

Wheelskins steering wheel cover

Got an amazing deal on a Bakflip G2 for $300 shipped prime on amazon

Resealed air intake box and did DWV/GOTTS mod

First attempt at a shifter **** cover -- Second attempt, much better

Swapped FPDM, old one was rotted out.

New lightbar and LED bars mounted -- Next set that replaced the ones I had prior, someone hit me and they had to be replaced

Broview H13 headlights installed -- More pictures of light bars and heads in the daytime

First aid kit, axe and tailgate seal added

DeeZee Tailgate Assist added

Replaced all speakers with Rockford Fosgate Punch P1683

Swapped out fogs with 9005 LED headlights (first time)

Added film to 9005 Fog bulbs AND changed throttle body

Added additional Hella Sharptone horns -- fire alongside the OEM horns.

Added bed lighting

Added a new headunit and reverse cam

Parts lists for moving rear diff breather tube, theft deterrent bolts for license plates, red LED for interior low light situations and added paracord seat pulls to front seats

Low light red LED and dimmer added (pics!) also more pics!

Swapped boots on COPs

APDTY 3F2Z15K859BA Park Assist Backup Reverse PDC Distance Sensor For Ford -- They don't work. You get what you pay for. Just buy the TechSmart ones and be done with it. I'm out $100 on faulty parts now.

Thank you. The Techsmart ones are the ones that Autozone had in stock for me to order (the only ones, in fact). I wonder if they're comparable.

I discovered that I had an aftermarket mystery switch in the truck and was wondering what it did. I traced the wire loom it was contained in, behind the dash, through the firewall and into the engine compartment. When I opened it up, I found that it runs into two relays. There's a fused line off the relays to the battery, and there were two clipped wires coming off the switched line of the relay.

My only assumption is that someone had some kind of additional LEDs or Bull bar lights running on this, even though I haven't come across any mount points or additional holes in it yet.

One of them is busted and they're both pretty weather-worn, so I'm replacing them both. I'm also getting a new fuse for the line that runs from the battery since the one that was in there was only half a blade, the other half having been busted off.

This is going to make wiring an LED lightbar to the front that much simpler, the footwork is already done.

I'll have updates once I find a 12v to tap for the interior lighting for foot well lighting or a keyed 12v for the camera power supplies.

Nice truck. It looks very stock even you have made modifications/repairs to it.
I do like to modify my truck but following the stock/OEM line

I changed all the interior lights to LED as you, and it looks great

Thank you, that's exactly what I'm going for. Extremely minor external changes to make it look very stock.

I saw your interior and I remember... my dad had a 2004 FX4 Crew cab, and the most annoying thing on it, was the chrome shift stick. When the sunlight reflects on it you can almost get blind (exaggerating). He used to put a towel (or something like that) to cover the sun reflect

It should be something like chrome matte
