Krucyfyx's 2014 XLT Ecoboost - Montana Ed. Build [PIC HEAVY]

Had a 2005 F150 FX4 before finding a wife and making a few devil spawn of my own. We couldn't afford the payments after awhile and sadly it had to be sold.

I doddled around in a 1999 Civic for awhile to save money/pay off bills and last year upgraded to a 2014 Ford Escape. It was a great rig, but just too small and not nearly robust enough for my hobbies. I like hunting, fishing, and running trails in my off-time and I just couldn't do that in my little 2.0 Ecoboost, but I LOVED the power. I could not step into something that wasn't boosted. I guess you could say I caught the boost bug. Thus began my journey of finding a 2011-2014 F150 Ecoboost that I could afford.

I started the search around March of this year. I knew what I wanted, and I knew what I could live without. I drove up to the dealership that I have bought all my vehicles from, and gave them my list. I test drove a few F-150's here and there, some with the 5.0, some with the 3.7L. I couldn't do it, had to have that boost. I got lucky though, about 2 weeks ago my dealer had a trade and called me in an abnormally excited tone about how he found THE PERFECT TRUCK. I drove over there on a thursday afternoon, he handed me the keys, and I haven't driven my escape since. I called him that night and told him I wanted it, and he told me to keep it for the night, we would do paperwork in the morning. The wife loved it, I loved it, and it has enough chrome to keep me from doing the blackout rigs that everyone is doing these days. I'm sure you guys actually want to see the truck though..

This is "Montana" as I suppose I will nickname her.

I could not STAND that ugly grill without the F and the R. So I talked to the dealer, and negotiated a trade for a stock Chrome C-Clamp grill (I had plans they didn't need to know about.)

Here she was 3 hours later. (I think this may be a record for car modifications.. will have to look it up)

So before I get too deep into this. Here is a layout of my future plans. I hope to get this done before christmas time, but alot of money is going into it, so it may be this time next year before it is finished.

Rough Country C-Clamp Light Bars
KustomFX Custom Switchplate, Fuse Block, Wiring
Fox 2.0 leveling System w/ Icon UCA's
Lund Rock Rail Guards
OEM Projector Style Headlights (Chrome)
Front Windows Tinted (22%)
Rock Lights
Bed Lights
34" E Rated BFG TA/KO2's

Optional/Eventually
ADD Venom Bumper Package

I might add, a lot of these installs will be posted in the appropriate areas with tutorials on how to do them. Especially if I deem the directions ass.

I went ahead and crossed one off the list tonight (Rough Country Light Bars), All installed, just waiting on Brett's (Kustom FX) stuff to get here. Here is a taste of the switch panel.

I will be doing a write-up on both of these (Wiring in Brett's switch panel/Fuse Block Install as well as the C-Clamp Light Bar Install)

I hope to be installing the switch panel Sunday, provided it gets here tomorrw. Otherwise it will be monday night.

Awesome start! Thanks for getting rid of the "DOOD" grille! Hideous! C-bar looks better, and simply awesome with the lighting top and bottom. Damn thats nice! I'll be watching your build thread. :)

Update

Got rid of the flashy canadian XTR badges today.

I decided I wanted something that looked stock, but didnt pop out quite as much. So i went with matte black instead.

So far I'm pretty happy with them

Installed this last night.

This will be running my Upper and lower grille light bars, as well as bed lights, and some rock lights on the side after I've put my rock sliders on.

Many thanks to Brett over at KustomFX for helping me design this bad boy, and send out everything I need to wire it up.

I will be posting an install guide on this, as well as his fuse block setup, and wiring. More pics of those to come.

Update: Added front tint/Eyebrow to the pickup a few days ago. I would say this thing is starting to look less stock :) Thank goodness!

Fronts are now 20% to match the rear.

No rub on wheel wells or bumper.

A tiny bit of rub on the front molded mud flaps (Probably going to take those off soon anyway, so not a huge deal to me.

Tell me what you think!

I love the combo

andrewdod 07-05-2017 10:44 PM

I definitely think its an awesome combo!
