So I picked up a couple switchback LED strips from The Retrofit Source. The plan is to tear apart my blinkers on my mirrors and retrofit them with the LED strip. This will allow me to have white on with my headlights and use the amber as blinkers. Hopefully this goes well.

Everything went well. I cut open my blinkers and installed the strips. I then sealed the blinkers up and reinstalled the mirrors. I had help from Firerunner with the wiring from the truck but overall, it was a fairly simple wiring process. I have run into a little snag. The blinkers only work when the lights are on. More help from Firerunner and he realized there may be feedback from the turn signal wire and I would need a diode. After discussing with Retrofit Source my problem, they said it is a known issue with our trucks. They were more than helpful in giving me the part number for the diode and the wires it needs to be attached to.

Huge thanks to Firerunner!!! Pics to come soon.

The white is pretty bright. It's about as bright as my switchbacks in the headlights. Not too bright though. That was a concern of mine but it's perfect.

Good job Dewey! Looks great. I just did the blinker genie thing, or I'd be looking closer at what you did, but try to figure out how to get the amber marker, and white turn. Not really sure if that would be good or not. Maybe I should just leave things as they are.

You can absolutely do that. You won't be able to do it with this strip. You would have to completely customize your own setup.

What would be cool would be to figure out a way for the white to come on steady when you hit the turn signal....kinda like a corner light on an old Caddy
