Fresh start 06 build
I'm new to this forum as I now have an F-150 to build up to my liking. Previously had a 2004 F-350 Lariat 6.0 PSD that was my baby but a stroke of bad luck and timing forced me to make an overnight decision to give it up for another truck. I knew those trucks inside and out thanks to several well known SuperDuty forums. Now I have to start over and this seems like a good site to go along with my new truck.
This 2006 XLT Crew was in fairly good shape overall but still had plenty of projects keeping me busy "undoing" the neglect and ignorance of todays azzhats in society. For example, thanks to a search on this site, discovered this morning that there's a good chance my transmission had never had a service since I found the yellow plug in the pan.
I'll update this thread with each project. Thanks to ThisguyUknow for his write up for the Lariat upgrade involving the gauge cluster and EATC. Many more questions to ask as I prepare for the swap. Also for anyone else who interested in acquiring parts for there own swap, I'll post links for the parts I've found.
First off all the basics had to be covered as far as maintenance. Pulled the running boards, they are for sale.

The 350
First time painting a pair of lights. Lenses are still pitted etc but good practice.
Mock up future turn signal idea
Oil rubbed bronze is the color
Plastidip side reflector

Wasn't too sure about painting the mirror caps on an 04-08 but it turned out great. In the future I will update with 09+ w/turn signals.
Went with Plastidip in case I didn't like it.
The texture comes through

I'm an SCT kind of guy not canned tunes from an Edge etc. Had a 5 star tune but once I installed the MBRP cat-back, the truck didn't respond well to the changes so its stock for now until I try another tune writer. No regrets from the MBRP install. Looks sharp, great fit and install and it sounds awesome. Not bad inside the cab either.

For anyone interested, I have an extra 2006+ Lariat/King Ranch speedometer cluster with column shift indicator for sale along with a center console style radio dash trim bezel. PM me if interested.
