Thanks guys!

blackhawk2002, did you end up painting the chrome? Or plastidip? I'm not normally a huge fan of chrome, but I really like it on my truck. My last truck was a blackout project, so I decided to go a little different with this one.

BoltonBrutality, you'll love it for sure. The interior on these trucks is AMAZING.

It was plastidip. I love it. I think blacking everything out just give it that look. I gotta redo my rims when I get home my wife told me it started to peel so she had to peel them all off. But the bumpers are holding up just fine.

How do you like the bakflip? I am looking to put one in June while I am on leave. I had a canopy on my 09 XLT and loved it. But I wanna do something different this time.

I love it. I know there have been plenty of threads on here where people have had unfavorable encounters with Bak, but my cover has worked out so far. I'm not really all that concerned with "waterproofing" the bed, so I didn't even install the drain pipes. I don't check regularly, but I've only ever noticed a few drops getting back there when it rains. I had the Extang Solid Fold on my '10 FX2 and liked it as well. I would say this cover looks better though.

You said leave, so I'm guessing you are in the military. What branch?

EDIT: I'm guessing Army by your signature haha. I can read, I promise.

Yes Army...lol...I'm currently station in Egypt for a 1 year hardship tour. Just waiting to get home and start playing with my truck. Looking forward to start my mods. Looking to install a cat-back, intake, bed liner and what not. I am really hoping to get back to TX after I leave here...just waiting and holding my breath.

[QUOTE=il_duce;3282371]Picked up some smoked tail lights. Raptor/HD or new FX2/FX4, whatever you wanna call them:

I don't have pics of it, but I added a DeeZee tailgate assist. Awesome and cheap mod.

The next and most expensive mods were my 2" Auto Spring level and the addition of 295/60R20 Nitto Trail Grapplers. I LOVE this setup. It changed the entire look of the truck:

Really nice work man! Nice balance between the black and chrome elements. Did you do the leveling kit yourself? If so, how complicated was it? Thanks for all of the good info!

Thanks! I didn't end up doing the level myself. I had planned on it, but I was just worried about messing it up. So I called around local places trying to get quotes. I was getting quotes anywhere from $150-$250 to install the level and do an alignment. I REALLY didn't want to pay that much money and was ready to do it myself. I finally asked my brother-in-law, who works in a regular maintenance shop, if he could do it. He ended up doing it in the shop for $43 in about an hour and a half. I then paid another shop $59 for an alignment.

Thanks to this thread for helping my decide on an exhaust. Like the OP I had my mind made up on the Borla Touring series. I have a borla exhaust on my Camaro and the quality of their systems is top notch. I wanted the touring because of the side exit, but was concerned that sound wouldn't be agressive enough. After seeing the install vids on this thread it changed my mind to get the Solo MR400 with the Mach 46 muffler. This is an awesome and a very quality exhaust system. I couldn't be more happy. Thanks OP for helping find what I was looking for!

I said in the past that I didn't think this truck needed a better sounding exhaust as it's pretty decent from the factory. Buuuttttt, I couldn't resist. I just ordered the Solo Performance MR400, 4" Single-Exit Cat Back w/ the Mach-46 muffler from Stage3. I went with the addition of the Mach-46 to keep the sound down a little. After reading reviews, this seems to be the best sounding exhaust for the 5.0 and Solo's reputation is awesome. I had been considering a Borla, but for nearly half the price, I was able to get the Solo. Can't wait to put this thing on!
