Does anyone have any knowledge how the 3 valve 5.4 responds to boost? I believe my original motor was replaced with a newer model years engine due to the original blowing up. I believe the previous owner said it was replaced with an '07 engine. I'm curious to find out what connecting rods my block has.

The 5.4 OE connecting rods were the same for about 10 years, so your 2003 and 2007 5.4 Triton have the same rods.

From what I read the supercharged f150 motors and Mustang motors got better connecting rods.

The position I'm mounting the turbo should allow gravity to feed the oil back into the pan. From what I understand most, if not all, turbo oil feed lines are restricted to meter the correct amount of oil the turbo needs. Maybe Im under the wrong impression that a turbo simply needs to be t'd off from the oil pressure sensor and a simple return line to the oil pan.
No, you still need a way to stop oil flow the instant the oil pump ****s off. If the turbo is mounted high enough to gravity drain, you don't need a pump or a check valve at all
